My point was more general not Roger’s related.

I’m amazed at all the hype as well but if villa want him then they should pay top dollar.
 
I am not really attached to Rogers and won’t cry if he leaves.
But that is entirely consistent with recognising he has obvious talent and ability and wanting the club to get the biggest fee possible (not grasping at a moderate profit) because I really care about his replacement.
 
£10M would be an incredible fee for someone who is far from the finished article, and as another person has said, probably wouldn't be in our first choice XI if everyone was fit. I don't get the Villa link at all. No way would he get into their team so would end up being loaned back out again. They've sold on better players in Ramsay and Archer so it is a bit mystifying tbh.
 
I don’t think any of us really know how badly the club would need the £10m (and £9m profit) if offered. I’m fairly confident that Gibson isn’t a complete clown so I’ll just go with whatever he feels is right. And if he doesn’t go, that’s fine too.

On the extended highlights the period 6 minutes to 7 minutes sums him up for me.

Highlight 1 - advancing towards goal with all the time in the world, people to pass to and he smashes the ball high & wide.
Next highlight - he receives the ball in a tight area, good 1st touch takes him away from the 1st challenge, he turns & goes between 2 players, dribbles into the box turns & goes away from 3 players and then gets his head up and plays Forss in, & then when the ball is eventually played into him again, his awareness means he skillfully plays Forss in for his goal.

He's a work in progress with amazing potential and if he does realise that potential, the reported £10m will seem incredibly cheap and great business for Villa.

I don't think £10m should be enough to sell him mid-season while we are in play-off contention and with a semi to play. Losing him without getting a replacement would, IMO, cost us more than £10m.

Yeah, but TBF you're comparing judging a highly educated & regulated professional in a scientific field against the ability of a bloke chasing a bag of air around a field, with his mates..

I better cancel that 911 I've got on order and the fortnight in the Caribbean, I was really banking on my share of that money as well.
