Really sad to hear of his passing.Trailblazer in the early 70s. Unique voice and brill songwriter ... was still touring until his recent cancer illness . One of my go to vinyl records below
It's a close call between him and Barlaser but I'd say you'd have to put Souness above him.Arguably the hardest player we've ever had.
I think he was good enough to adapt his game to the current rules and still be a standout in the Premier league.Just thinking how good was he?
Dont think he would last long on the pitch with the current anti-physical game.
My best Boro player since I started going in 1969.

can remember his home debut and even as a raw youngster he was a class above what we had before in midfield , George Smith and Eric Mc Mordie was very good but Nobby had had his day but when Souness arrived the tempo of the team increasedI saw Souness in his prime with us. He was an awesome player. It was clear that he was going on to bigger and better things.
its my fault i started a thread about Steve Harley and then noticed there was another one so changed it to the Souness thread .... whilst i was working out how to do it 2 posters had attached a Harley responseSouness was best when he was Steve Harley
Must not forget the benefit Souness gained from playing alongside Murdoch. I think this really brought him on as Murdoch was one of the best passers of a ball there has ever been. Vital to us getting promotion and never cost a penny when big Jack signed him.can remember his home debut and even as a raw youngster he was a class above what we had before in midfield , George Smith and Eric Mc Mordie was very good but Nobby had had his day but when Souness arrived the tempo of the team increased
Remember it well as a teenager in the middle of the Holgate. A tad scary if I’m honest. Will never forget the screamer he scored one night against Lester. And then the lights went out and the match was abandoned.

We had season tickets in the South Stand but only two, so my dad used to take my little brother and I would go in the Holgate with my mates. Loved it!would not have put you in the holgate ... more North Stand upper seats
