Spence and Wood, dear me

I think you are being harsh about Spence. I thought apart from his mistake in their goal he played well.

If frys out for any length of time it concerns me in a couple of ways:

1) It might mean Warnock can't/won't send Wood out on loan which probably needs to happen to get him some experience

2) It might force him to move Djiksteel to CB alongside paddy, meaning my mate Spece will be on the pitch
 
Like Spence’s energy and ability to get up and down the pitch. BUT suspect defensively and goes down blind alleys in attack. So frustrating. Acceptable in a back five wing-back role but nothing else

We defo need to bring in another centre back imo
 
They had two possibly three who could have put that ball away when they scored - out defence was non existent.

with Wood he looks like he’s played in teams wher he’s the top boy - I just thought his confidence was greater than his ability. Trying to spray 40 yard balls around that were just going out of play. I think he made one great pass.
 
Wood had a shaky match, that is clear, but he is an 18 year old.
I wish I was as confident about the future of a few of our experienced players as I am of Wood's.
A few will regret their comments in the future.

Saville was desperately bad today, so was Assombolonga.
Spence worries me. His concentration is criminal.
Howson did switch off for the goal, but there were several culpable players in the build up to that goal.
 
Don't blame Wood at all, he's 18 and in an ideal world he would be out on loan in League One or Two right now.

He was poor today, but the circumstances that brought him in to the game were shocking and unfair, he's bound to struggle.

Spence was also poor, and we missed Dijksteel even at his current out of sorts performance.
 
Sadly we play Spence as a defender , the problem is he is ok going forward into space , never makes space however !!, defensively shocking ,ball watches to criminal levels

Has the swagger when he really needs to get his bloody head down & graft ..........& listen to NW
