I agree. There is nothing to be gained by trying to overturn this. In recent polling only 27% of Leave voters think that the Johnson deal is "good for the UK". And therein lies the path to return. We are at present aligned on many regulations with the EU and "the deal" will punish us if (for example) we try to deregulate labour laws to undercut the EU. Similarly with farming and we have agreed to suspend change on fishing for five years (IIRC) all that has been "achieved" is introduce a huge volume of red tape which costs our exporters and discourages importers. It's a shidt deal but we're out. The teething troubles that have caused the great broccoli shortage will pass, Belgian chocolates and beer will return, etc.
But, it will become obvious that the lies told about the EU (Turkey, EU Army, imminent collapse etc.) were just that. The 2024 election will be fought against Johnson or another Brexiter. And that is the point at which the "deal" becomes the lead necklace around the Tory Party. They can no longer blame Labour for standing in the way of a deal. They did the deal and it's shidt. Let's vote...
