Sunak’s speech

There will be absolute anarchy if they try it. I honestly think people who would previously never even consider going on peaceful demonstrations, will be lining up to storm 10 Downing St to lynch them.
Absolutely, it's human nature to react when that way when you think your freedoms are being taken away and here we see the threat of protest marches becoming illegal and elections delayed for nefarious reasons.
I've just read a post online from Albert Camus which sums it up neatly. "The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion."

Watched the Sky news coverage and you could clearly hear someone shouting, all the way through it from somewhere nearby

So his speech is half clever ..
He's telling the Tories and reform voters , he's hoping red wall ( closet racisty types ) hear him too ....

" Your freedoms and beautiful perfect democratic country ( you know the type that gave you a brexit win ) is being taken away from you by extremists
( not yourselves though ) "

Doing actually as you've posted to anyone else who actually believes in such freedoms for all.

I honestly think they won't care - don't forget the 'They're all the same' narrative
I don't see Sunak going down this route, but he's certainly setting the possibility up

"....... innermost fears" ????

Bollox. That's getting a thorough going over by HMRC. Or being forced to use public transport.

He was in Aberdeen a few hours before his glorious speech, I wonder what form of public transport got him to Downing Street? 🤔

Didn’t watch the propaganda, but can guess it was designed to incite fear and suspicion. Watch at the Tories try to win the election based on Britain being invaded and on the brink of being taken over by others. They will claim to be the only party capable of stopping the made up nonsense.

.... it may all be too late. The Economist this week (can't get it out from behind its pay wall) has a very detailed analysis of why the numbers and demographics are moving in Labour's favour.

The data underscore how the tide is going out after 14 years of Conservative rule. All of the biggest population groups have turned away from the government (see chart). Only 4% of the 51m adults in Britain are more likely to vote Tory than they were in 2019. They are from such unusual groups that you may struggle to find them (try older renters in the south-east, rural British Indians and young British Bangladeshi homeowners).

I did watch it (with gritted teeth) and that's exactly the tone, which was sadly very predictable.

It's blindingly obvious from the timing of this rushed, deranged speech - Friday evening - that Sunak has plans to cause disturbances at today's demonstrations. He must be colluding with intelligence agencies and the police to achieve this.
