Football Fan Is Going To Wembley Via Spain Because It’s Cheaper Than Train
James Jelly, 33, paid just £51 for plane tickets and an overnight stay in Spain ahead of Sunderland’s big game.
It's cheaper to fly to Spain, stay the night and then fly to Stansted than getting a train or a flight from Newcastle to London. Kind of shows how ridiculous our train prices are, but on the flip side, as people on Twitter are saying, it sounds like a good way to get yourself some 15 minutes of fame. Why couldn't he have got a Megabus or a lift with the people picking him up in Stansted (yeah, maybe they don't live in the NE)?
Great name, BTW.
