A perfect description (maybe slightly more cheese and definitely less sheep though)!Green Bay Packers………Green Bay is like Brotton with Wembley Stadium in it!
But random, however, the band Pavement hail from Stockton, California. As a Stockton lad I chose the team most local to Stockton, California. Don't regret it at all now, Niners fan for life
Please accept my commiserationsChicago Bears, i started off watching Chicago Bulls in the NBA and then started watching other American sports so followed the Chicago franchises
I have a similar hatred of the Broncos and John Elway for the same reasonSame here. Would watch the highlights on channel 4 in the 80’s and stay up for the Superbowl. Still haven’t forgiven the Broncos for AFC championship defeats. Still check for the scores but rarely watch now.
On the flip side, always rooted for the underdog so saw the Redskins getting trounced and started to follow them. Remember Marcus Allen and Jim Plunkett having outstanding games. For me it was the Raiders after watching my first Superbowl in 1983. Marcus Allen's run was immense. I hope the link works.
The gold rush? That’s prob the most obscure reason yet, love itLiked the song Oh my darling Clementine when at scouts which mentions 49ers so I started supporting SF49ers
Let’s make it happenBills.
My uncle moved to the US 77 ish and settled nr Buffalo. We went over in 85 and 87, just at the time Nfl was taking off in the UK.

Not everyone is the same.I don't understand how/why anyone is interested in NFL, the reporting of NFL, NBA and baseball by BBC is getting ridiculous
Eh?? NFL is on twice a week in the early hours of the morning and they show The Super Bowl once a year!I don't understand how/why anyone is interested in NFL, the reporting of NFL, NBA and baseball by BBC is getting ridiculous
Some people like different stuff. Not harming anyoneI don't understand how/why anyone is interested in NFL, the reporting of NFL, NBA and baseball by BBC is getting ridiculous
New Jersey’s finestStarted watching the games on sky & the Giants seemed to be on every week at 9pm, Super Bowl run in 2007 helped cement it.
