Tav forced the move ......?

Good player , cost us nothing, made us millions, for an attacking midfielder has a very average goalscoring record at championship level, but his allround
game was very good

Move on, we have had far, far better players than Tavernier and we will have far better players than him in the future....good luck to him, you cannot question his attitude
The entire time he was at the club, the lad worked his socks of most games, give the club several years service, the end

I don't believe the Gazette is the mouthpiece of MFC - Wasn't the main Gazette reporter banned from the Riverside for a while a few years back?

I don't see a lot of logic in the Club selling Tav for the fee quoted unless the player was keen to go the Premier League. The Club had also sold Spence for up £20m which surely provides some transfer kitty for new players.

Some on here said he was reacting at the end of the game at Preston as though he was ready for a new challenge, that would have come from him not the Club.

I wish him well, he always give his best for the Boro.

If he wants to go then he should go.
I think saying he forced the move is a bit harsh.
Forcing a move would be refusing to play or playing badly (Ramirez, Yakubu)
He was professional to the end.
No complaints and I wish him well.

Wilder wasn't going to tell the fans that Tav was wanting out, was he. What if the move hadn't gone through in the end? The fans would have been on his back and he might well have needed Tav to play if there were any injuries.

He's not exactly going to sit there and tell us things like 'yeah, Bola wants a move to Reading and thinks that's a better option for him than Boro' and 'Fry fancies the Prem - he can't wait to leave to be honest'. It's not what these events are for.
No. But I'm sure he's quite capable of saying something bland like "we hope he'll stay but every player has his price"

Or "I can't really talk about speculation".

You think he had no choice but to lie? Really?

I don't think he did lie anyway, but it's not hard to dodge those questions.
