Know people like that. Consider myself lucky I have had same group of friend for 40 years give or take a couple who have died. They were immense when my wife died six years ago.Not directly related, but influenced by, the film, there's an article in The Guardian about male friendship and the fact that many middle aged men have no friends of their own, rather they rely on their partner to drive their social life, which I found really surprising.
Friends are good for us … so why do many men have none at all?
