I think there is scope for a few shenanigans from him yet. I’m actually looking forward to the next episode of the Rudy and Sidney show if Sid is allowed on. If only our Rudy had been as entertaining to watch.

Her claim that she 'released the Kraken' was possibly the most grounded thing she said.

Totally agree. This sociopath doesn't go down with a wimper. He'll have something up his sleeve to throw at Biden before he goes...it'll probably be something associated with abroad like further troop withdrawal or of that ilk...something that satisfies his 'base' of feck everyone else around the world ; this world revolves around US. The US of A.

Did I read he cannot pardon himself for any any crimes he may have committed but another President could. Step up President Spence.
 
I’m not sure there is a definitive answer. I’m sure he will try anything to get away with his many crimes. In effect if it is allowed he is putting himself above the law, what an affront to justice that would be.

I am concerned a criminal trial will be academic in any event. He only needs to get one of his delusional supporters on the jury and there is absolutely NO chance of a conviction despite any overwhelming evidence.
 
He knows he lost the popular vote and also the electoral college but all this tweeting and crying isnt about that..

he knows he will be leaving the whitehouse soon but he wants to make it as difficult for Biden to have a successful term as possible. Thats why the GOP has not deserted him yet...

He is not even the kid who takes the football home with him, hes the one that bursts it before he leaves...
 
He's installed his own men in the Pentagon in the Defence Department and the likes of the navy seals etc have to report to them now.
They've also withdrawn from the Open Skies treaty and are disposing of the planes used in the aerial surveillance program that monitor Russian movements in Europe.
Other countries might be better able to trust Biden, but the threat of Trump or one of his cultists getting back into the WH in four years will always be there which will temper any attempts by Biden to return to normal US relations.

Legal scholars say it's unclear whether a President could pardon themselves. On the face of it, there are no limits set on the presidential pardon powers related to federal crimes.

Probably almost no-one other than Trump would have even dreamed of trying it but I wouldn't put anything past him.

Surely that can be undone from day one though, Biden can install his own people? Might be slightly harder to undispose of planes though
 
Here's another thing he's considering:
President Trump is reportedly considering ending birthright citizenship before he leaves the White House.

The Hill is reporting several members of the Trump Administration are discussing pushing through an executive order on citizenship before Joe Biden is sworn in on January 20.

I've also seen it reported that he might try (again) to rescind the DACA protections. The Supreme Court decision on this earlier in the year certainly left the possibility open for him to have another go at it.

If its, as yet, untested as to whether a sitting president can pardon his own crimes. In any event the president can only pardon federal crimes and there are outstanding state issues in New York that Trump may have to deal with and presidential pardon will not help.
 
Bloke on C4 tonight said he could only use his pardon ,if he gives himself one, as a last resort and would have to go up all the the courts to the supreme court before he could wave it.
Much as I would love to see justice done, there may be a big danger of almost martyring himself and fuelling the crazies and all their guns that follow him
