Who knows how many points 2nd spot will require, it’s all guess work. Keep picking up 3 points and crank up the pressure.

What will be interesting is if we were to get our noses in front of Sheffield Utd.. how that would change the feeling.

What are your estimations of how many we’d need?

Personally, I think another 22 will do it. 85 points. My guess is they’ll have to get to 86 as we’ll have a better goal difference by then. Another 19 points needed.

There’s going to be some crazy results in this run in across the board though. It could easily go down to that Coventry game.

If it is to be the play offs.. second leg at home would be nice.

Tense, and close!

Our home form has been exceptional.

If we continue as we are, we’ll do it. This form has been incredible really. If we can do what we’ve done over the last 10 games again you’d like to think we stand a real chance, especially taking into account Sheffield United’s form. They’ve lost 4 from 6.

It's difficult to see us going 10 games unbeaten with games against Burnley, Norwich, Luton away to come. I think it's possible 21 points could be gained.

I've not seen Sheffield United's last 10 but 4 of their next 5 are really tough. If Boro can pick up between 11 and 13 points during that run then we could move into 2nd place.

What are Luton's fixtures? They can't be forgotten about. That was a massive win for them yesterday and they are very much in the mix.

Luton only really come into play if they can beat us like we did to sheff u.

If we beat them then the gap will be too big with the games left. Plus they can’t make up that GD either.

With a three game week:
Our result yesterday and Blades defeat at home was what we wanted.
If we beat Stoke, and Sunderland take a likely three points at home - its down to next Saturday.
I wouldnt expect Blades to get more than a point out of the next six.
Compare to us - they have an inferior goal difference - and in goals scored - we are 8 ahead of them.
Blackburn Rovers aint gonna lay down at Bramley Lane next Saturday - they want to stay in the playoffs.
Potentially, we could be second in two games time.

Sheffield United`s form is diabolical:

Some tough games for Luton. Blackpool and Rotherham are fighting for their lives down at the bottom also.

Every game has a different type of pressure for all teams, when we take second then we have the pressure and sheff u will be chasing then the pressure is on oro going into games against Burnley, Norwich and Luton, can we stay calm and keep playing the way we are, time will tell its a different mindset when you have something to hold onto/lose, am sure Carrick will be working on this with the players to keep them mentally and physically prepared.

The whole squad is going to be needed so everyone needs to be on there game and be ready to put everything on the line.

I imagine Forss will be in on Tuesday for Ramsey to manage him properly, Fry for Paddy, we have to use the squad and mange fitness and keep competition high for places.

It is but I honestly think if shef u do lose 2nd spot they’ll tumble even further. As they are in free fall at the mo.

I`m not entirely sure I agree that the pressure transfers to us once we get to 2nd

Playoffs was always the target, especially were we have come from, if we find ourselves in 2nd once we secure the playoffs, then we can talk about transfer of pressure

Even then I believe we have the mental strength to maintain 2nd spot anyway

Exactly there’s zero pressure on us as plays offs are dream considering where we were.

I just believe that the hunt is better than the holding, I do however believe we as a group have the attributes to hold on to second and actual embrace it by added even more flare to our play but in becoming a top team etc, clubs dig in sit back and that is where you are mentally tested as 0-0 at the Riverside with 5 minutes to go our fans can be very impatient and that transends to the pitch at times, it is going to be an excellent end to a season that has already been superb but as a minimum we have to retain a play off spot for it to be classed as a successful season but I truely believe we are the best side in this division and I think we will show it, I know the table doesnt lie and Burnley will be the winners but the football we play is excellent, we will only get better and as I said, IMO, we are the best team in this division!

I would however state that at the beginning of the season we all thought this squad should be and was capable at a minimum of challening for the play offs.

Wilder destroyed that due to arrogane and attitude.

Carrick, Woodgate and Danks have added a different level to the play, tactics, work ethic and Carricks levels of his playing career, experiences, attitude/personality he can draw on will be the driving factory behind our success.

If anybody can give Burnley a game it's us.
Burnley will want revenge from when Sheffield battered them at Bramall Lane.
Luton looks a hard game on paper but their home for isn't great, they're excellent on their travels though.
