The horrible Joey Barton at it...

Intellectual though isn't he? Look, he can use sentences with punctuation and everything.

Even read a book once.

One of the replies pointed out he’d previously commented on women’s football and was inclined to tweet his opinions too…

Sort of shuts his point down pretty well.. (or enforces it 🤷🏼‍♂️ 😏)

I think someone having the opinion women aren’t the best qualified to comment on the men’s game is fine… but if they’re gonna air it in public like that then they need to prepare for a back lash…

Can't understand why any club would want to appoint him as manager.Massisve attention seeker and glad he never played for Boro a bad example to the sport.

I thought the woman commenting on Everton v Newcastle last night was excellent. Had some really good input.

Give me the likes of Laura Woods over any male presenter all day too. And not just because she’s an attractive girl! She’s an excellent broadcaster.

One thing I do understand from Barton. Although it’s the same sport, the men and woman’s game is not the same. Women’s football has developed very well but it will always lack the intensity of the men’s game.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but when it's sexist or racist you draw the line and he overstepped it.

Laura Woods is brilliant, but she is definitely an outlier.

I completely agree with the point he was trying to make, maybe not so much the way he did it . I very much doubt I'm in the minority who also believe that you should be hired on you're knowledge/ability to do the job and not picked just to meet a woke quota to tick a box. There are some fantastic women working in the game such as Laura Woods however there is also quite clearly people who are chosen just to meet the agenda.

The point he made was that no woman should be allowed to speak about or commentate on men's football.

If you completely agree with that, you're clearly a sexist.

Laura Woods wouldn't be allowed in Joey Barton's bigoted Little World of Football.

It's not the point he's making.

The point he's making is that even Laura Woods shouldn't be talking about the men's game.

By Barton's logic you have to have played football at that level in the men's game to be able to talk about it.

Which presumably also rules out any number of male journalists, commentators or pundits. Strangely he doesn't seem to mention any of those though.
