Signed after one of the best ever individual seasons for a number 10 in the Championship, and then played as a winger in the only start he's had.
Not even fair to say he's struggling individually, Ajax are just a shambles right now.

I don't think he is either, but I'd be surprised if we spent money on a position that we've just spent £3-4m on this summer, especially if those two players are at least decent.

We'd already baulked at the asking price in the summer, when we didn't have a left back.

I do think he is a better defender.

Giles is freakishly productive for a fullback, but it comes at a cost of goals conceded.

We managed 6 clean sheets in 30 league games under MC last season. That did need to improve, and we've had 3 in 3 since LE has found his feet. I'm not saying he's all that's changed, but it's a significant part of it.
 
I’m happier where we are now with players that are ours, signed on long term contracts, building something special together. Feel bad for Akpom because it’s just not worked out for him, but I’m pretty sure he’ll be back in England soon enough. I don’t think we would look to take any of them back - especially not on these ridiculous buy back contracts.
