The Last of Us TV Show

Apparently it features the classic Depeche Mode track NLMDA. I love telling my 21 year old son, who is an avid fan of this game that this is the sort of music I was listening to at his age 🤣

Yeah, one of them. Have to say I’d not heard of her before, is she well known?
Played the lead role in Fringe alongside John Noble and Joshua Jackson for 5 seasons. It was an excellent, well written show, got a bit bizzare in season 4 but saved itself in season 5.

She was also in Mindhunter on Netflix and in an episode of The Pacific.

I think the first Last of Us game has one of, if not the best, downloadable add-on chapters ever. Called "Left Behind". In the trailer, it looked like some of that story might be the series.

Brendan Fletcher, who was in episode 1, was also in The Pacific.

IMDB says that Anna Torv is 5 episodes,
but I’m guessing the next 3 will be flashbacks…

It’s stayed very true to the game, whilst telling its own story. Unbelievable

The scene with the clickers could have been taken from the game, absolutely amazing.

Another excellent episode, didn't mind the changes at all.
The end bit was very unnerving.

I'm used to Bella Ramsey now as well, I think she'll be fine.

So glad they didn't mess it up, going to be a heck of a season, so much to fit into the final 7 episodes, really looking forward to it.

Loving all the post apocalyptic city scenes . Even the lighting indoors is game-esque. I even thought it was a comic (collectible items in the game) they tossed her for toilet paper but when I zoomed in it was some kind of haircut magazine šŸ˜‚

I loved episode 2. The main difference overall as previously discussed, replacing spores with the Fungal roots(?). Quite liked the concept of how they’re all interconnected.

The later scene with Tess was a little freaky but excellent.

Good to see The Clickers were a pain in the **** in the show just as much as the game. I’ve succumbed to many Clickers over my time of playing the game. Especially before the skill upgrades where you can shiv them!

Be quite cool if one of the other characters teaches them how to shiv

Think they might reach the gym in the next episode which will be carnage

God that opening scene for episode 2 was haunting. The slightly shaking of the tea cup despite the stern look on her face. Great acting. Think that will be something that sticks with me for a while.

I’m still trying to get my head around the whole roots thing having played the game which is obviously different.

How exactly are they connected? I think it was Tess who said something about standing on one root can alert a whole group of them, why’s that?

Yeah, I think it adds an extra dimension.

The fungus itself is trying to spread and infect as many ā€œhostsā€ as possible. In certain scenes in episode 2, you see the roots / fibres connect themselves around some of the dead on the floor (or vice versa).

As it’s 20 years after the initial outbreak, some of those roots must have networks. So when a part of that network is disturbed or attacked, it alerts the other infected - hence the end scene.

Certainly different from the game, but an interesting concept which will probably have quite a bearing on future episodes.
