The last time people were posting like this…

I tend to keep away from the more hysterical elements of the board after a defeat but my biggest fear is that Carrick gets tired of all our best players being sold or moved on from under him and moves on himself. I know that we as a club take collective decisions regarding players but if I was MC I wouldn't be at all happy about who we lose vs who replaces them.
This is my concern too.
But my bigger concern is why Carrick isn't playing the best players he has available in their best positions

I didn’t realise until I saw this tweet just how bad our home form was. The amount of loses and lack of goals shows it’s not a blip this is a trend that the manager has failed to address and those behind the scenes have done very little to make his like easier with that appalling January window.

Not sure why it would be a surprise. That has us at 14th in the home league and we're 12th overall. We're 6th in the away league which looks decent but the difference between 6th and 14th is only 3 points away from home.

Home and away is pretty much identical where we've won and lost pretty much the exact same number of games plus a few draws and a neutral goal difference. We're as average as you can be this season.

Just as you mention Roger’s, crooks, latte lath, coburn, jones, bangura & smith

We have Forss, McGree, Greenwood, Thomas, Silvera, O’Brien & RVDB..all talented players that can impact the game.

Azaz might yet surprise us!

Most of them were available in the first 6 games, my post was stating it’s not the same squad as them players are missing.. you have just stated some more who were available during that dreadful start

Overall trajectory is good. Feels like we dropped a bit of a clanger in January.

For me the set up yesterday was all wrong.. and as much as our injury difficulties have hampered us.. of we’re setting up like that.. we’re doing ourselves no favours.
I thought the first half was as much about application, as it was team selection or formation.

Too many players were off the pace; lots of short misplaced passes, lack of intensity and controlled aggression.

Take aways? Not many for me, not ones that we did t already know.

Hackney has to play in the deeper midfield role, which we probably already knew, but are we too lightweight if he's partnered with Barlaser?

O'Brien needs games to get up to pace, Thomas seems to be regularly getting a cameo (which is odd for a full back), so either we see him in the first 11 and a permanent addition, or we have a performance related clause included in the loan deal.

We badly miss the pace of Jones and LL and also miss the X factor of Rogers.

I'm not too disheartened though, it was always going to be a big ask to push into the top 6, for a variety of reasons (some out of our hands) and the summer recruitment will be interesting.

Smith wasn’t really there or Bangura.. we’ve not got Rogers or Crokks anymore.. but we do still have quality.
