This appointment is taking too long. I can understand that there will be issues to resolve, but we need this to be resolved. It needs to be sorted by the start of next week so that the new coach can get games in before this shut down. I’m getting the feeling that Carrick will not join Boro. To be honest I don’t know if he is the right man for the job anyway.

Rumoured that Alex Bruce has turned down the coaching job. Perhaps this is the reason behind the delay? Maybe getting another coach lined up for the announcement?

Or he's looking to follow his dad to his next job.....or he fancies a crack at management himself. Or he wants more money. Or he doesn't fancy the North East. Or it's rampant media speculation.

Leo and Leadbitter would be more than adequate. We’ve had Craig Hignett, Jonathan Woodgate.. I don’t get why this is a thing now? Nobody knows the capabilities of any of the backroom staff linked or how they would operate in our Carrick led setup.
