The official boro tweet wording

It will be interesting to see what Wilder does next, but the last 11 months definitely won't look good on his CV.
It will be interesting to see who is sitting in a higher league position in 18-24 months time, Chris Wilder or MFC. I wouldn’t bet against it being Wilder if I’m honest.

Yep, very abrupt statement. Not much love lost there, I wonder what’s gone on.

Can he just be sacked for poor results, wouldn't that have to be gross misconduct or something? He'd get his contract paid up and be called mutual agreement if it is just about results?
If the Bournemouth rumours are true, then maybe it is mutual consent. We give him 20% of his remaining 18 months, and that frees him to join Bournemouth

Agreed, but you don't become a poor manager over night. Whilst it seems like he couldn't operate at our club I'd still back to do very well elsewhere in future.
I wouldn't , listening to some sheff utd fans he seem to have a lot of things come together by chance and all the stars aligned. I think he has serious limitations particularly as manmanager. Some managers get lucky at a club and never recreate that success elsewhere like megson at West brom

Wilder was successful at every club he has managed at. It didn't just all fall for him at Sheff U, he made it happen.

Starting to look like an 'all or nothing' Manager.
His gameplan needs very confident players.
If this confidence drops and results drop it looks like a death spiral.
Happened at Sheffield, happend with us.

Doesn't look like he has the skills to lift a team when results don't go his way

I don't count lower league football decades ago. I don't think he has the personality to manage modern premier League and even championship players. Don't forget most of the players he had at sheff utd were League one players until promotion

I’m starting to feel there might be something in that Bournemouth stuff.

Pure conjecture and I guess we’ll see what happens, but would join the dots if he really is high on the new Bournemouth owners’ list, has been in contact with them, the players got the vibe he wasn’t hanging around and Gibson decided to fire him.

Gibson’s not this ruthless usually. It has some of the tone of the Monk sacking.

Or Edwards at Forest Green?

There does seem to be some evidence of that. I do think it was probably a culture shock joining us last season re: the quality of the squad.
