But I heard, loan move for Kienan David went south.

Clearly he was only leaving if someone better came in. And he might go on loan in Jan if someone does come in. Unless he takes his chance to prove himself at this level before then.

Never made sense to me to loan him out again. He is ready to be used in our squad now.

His goals per mins at Boro is superb. Also a decent spell and grounding away on loan last season.

I think he's ready. He can more than do a job off the bench. He's turned into a right 'unit'. A far better No9 option than Crooks.

He will be training with better players and under Carrick. He's been under used in the last few games. I presume as they thought he was leaving.

If he's used in our squad, and Latte does well, that means minutes off the bench at best. On loan he might be starting every week and starting 30+ games will be better for his development than only playing sporadically here. The only way he develops more here than starting elsewhere is if Latte gets an injury or isn't good enough.

It would be brilliant if he stays, gets time, and forces himself into contention and scores regularly but we wouldn't have been looking at other players if Carrick thought he was good enough to start regularly for us.

Well last year it was Maddo who drove Coburn to Bristol Rovers .. but this year I'm guessing Maddo wasn't available or said 'No chance , Plymouth is way further like , not for me that' and so Coburn reported to our management that he "couldn't find a lift" so the whole thing was just sacked off.

It could have been his way of justifying it to the fans and the media but I got the impression from Carrick’s comments that Coburn may have proved himself a bit in training while closing in on full fitness. It may be why we were able to bring some of the late signings in instead of blowing what we had left on another striker. Players his size usually take a bit longer to get up to speed and that last 5% fitness is everything for players with more body weight.

Really filled out over last year, could be really big season for him if he can use his size to bully defenders. Obviously knows where the goal is. Very happy to see him given a chance rather than spend millions on another young player. How good would it be to have a top striker come through our acadamy.

I have a foot in both camps, I'd probably have been happier with him getting more appearances/experience on loan. But I'd be happier with him coming off the bench and going up top than I would be with Crooks being used as an out and out striker.

Hopefully he does well and saves us a headache and a chunk of money in coming windows.

What I cannot understand is...
Why play Crooks if there was always a chance Coburn stays, like give him a run out.

This won't change anything for young Coburn because he still won't get minutes.

It's difficult for him, but he does well in training and earns Carrick's trust, then hopefully he'll get some game time to show what he is all about. A good finisher.

Coburn will get game time somewhere down the road. Hopefully start him at Bradford and before then 3 matches for him to build some minutes up, if this happens then it's a lot more than happened last season when he was injured afor the first few months but then went onto mostly have a successful loan at Rovers, his problem seems to be staying free from injury.

Coburn gives us a different option. I’d rather he had a chance here over the next few months to work under Carrick and co who can coach him and play the way they want us to play. Davis wouldn’t add any more but would be expensive and I don’t believe would get any more goals.
