The Saudi league are they targeting to drain the prem as well

Largely signing a bunch of aging big names on daft contracts.
Like China before them.

Zaha would be the youngest, if he did go there, and he's nearly 31 and available on a free transfer.

If they want to pay £200m to a soon to be 36 year old in Benzema, then good luck to them.

Oh dear, how sad.

Next will be a "link up" between a Saudi team and Newcastle with all sorts of financial scullduggery and shenanigans - similar to Watford/ Udinese/ Malaga. Players "loaned" or move between clubs for silly amounts. Not circumventing FFP in any way shape or form.

Then Saudi gets a place or two in The CL / Europa League.......all entirely above board, absolutely no envelopes stuffed full of cash changing hands. No, all legit and fully above board.

Chinese Super League tried to lure players past their sell by date for one last big pay cheque few years back and seems to have failed. Guess Saudi’s are taking over.

It has but they never targeted the true elites instead going for big names but not the elite.

Saudi Arabia are trying to takeover global sport they've already got the golf by the balls now they onto football and is talk of a Saudi cricket league to match the IPL

All has beens though. They know they can't compete at the top level anymore so instead of going to a lower club for less money they are taking one last fat wedge of cash. They won't be putting any effort into competing and there isn't even any kudos if they do. There basically playing exhibition matches to see out their career.
 
Times are good for Saudi whose economy is built mainly on oil. When oil runs out in around 46 years time their economy will take a massive hit.
 
They can throw as much money at players as they like, but it's not and never will be a football hotbed, unlike Europe and South America. For that reason alone it'll never be sustainable. There are millions of long-suffering fans on the above continents, some of whom have never seen their clubs have success since they were born, who are still devoted to their teams and a Saudi attempt to buy a competitive world league won't change that.

I agree but money talks we’ve never seen money like this before.

Spending Money like water that even the prem can’t compete with.

It does talk, but there'd still be a limit to the number of players who could go there just as there is/was in China, Japan the US etc. Even if they took the top 5 or 6 players from every major club in Europe and South America there'd still be enough quality remaining or coming through in those leagues to make up for the loss,

China weren’t offering 300mil wages etc saudi can and will and then house them like gods.

I hope your right but it’s def a new era of super wealth no one has seen before.
