They are pressing really well and we can’t keep the ball.

Doing ok at the back so far but need to be better in possession
 
What I find so frustrating is Burnley have unmarked players every time they attack! Frankly we are giving them license to attack at will. Still the score is 0-0 so we must be through luck or judgement be doing it right!!
 
Not a lot to worry about there. Lots of possession, but little threat in reality.
We can get something here if we just use the ball better on the counter.
 
We can't keep the ball. It's coming straight back at us.

Also we can't retain the ball from throw ins. I noticed that a couple of games ago.

Should be 2-1 to them imho
 
Boring game so far. We need more of the ball to see if we can do something with it. Best outlet so far is Akpom, but he’s only really had one opportunity to do something with it. Come on Boro. Let’s make a game of it in the second hal.
 
I actually think we have played well.

Defended really well.

They had one chance which was 2 yards offside.

We could have done better on a couple of breaks.

I'm glad we have not been chasing too much as well - despite not having possession, don't think we will be tired out
 
1. we need to be brave and break the press better. We are playing the safe backwards option, but that just draws the Burnley block higher up the pitch and secedes territory. We need to change that pattern.
2. If we're going to play at longer we need to get Forss and Akpom closer together so they can help each other
3. The defence has done really well, kept them at arms length until a couple of late opportunities for them, through tiredness. We'll start to get tired at 70 mins today as we've got through a lot of work and I'm not sure we have the bodies to keep this level of work up.

There's work for Carrick to do to defeat this high block.

We have been time wasting a bit ref has a few words. Watching the game on ifollow with burnley commentary and they are going nuts at our early time wasting.

Giles was playing him on.

We've defended well, but they look far better than us in possession.
 
Need to start playing it long to the flanks as they are pressing high. Need to push the back four ten yards higher up the pitch to help Chuba to get nearer to Forss and pick up the second balls.

As we look at Watmore stood on halfway hahaha.

We've done what I said, Akpom up top with Watmore in behind.
