* The Unofficial "Official" Boro v Coventry Semi-Final 2nd leg. Match Day Thread *

From where we`ve come.
We`ve taken a broken team and got this far. Our lads have done what they are capable of......the summer will see additions and departures. We`l be adding strength and doing what Carrick and his team have done since he arrived. Nay worries lads. This is the Boro you know. Proud of our progress this season(y)

We didn’t deserve it, we were poor, I’m not convinced of the wisdom of resting players and taking it easy over the past few games - we haven’t won in a while and it showed tonight

I hope Coventry go on and win it now

Live and learn.

Carrick is still destined to be a top manager and comes across as a top bloke.

Braced myself for this "typical boro"

At least it wasn't a last minute goal or penalties.

Get to see us win a few games next year. Rather than get ywatyed off city Liverpool etc
We’d have won on pennas.

Didn't turn up and got what we deserved.

Yes they defended well but we've ripped apart much better sides than them this season.

Tactics wrong first half for me. High crosses against a tall back three. Looked like we lacked belief second half.

Promising signs going forwards but we need a couple of b***ds in the team to make the step up next season.

Mad how two of the poorest footballing teams in the division are in the final (and another, Blades, are already promoted).

Going to be a very interesting next season once we have lost the loanees and sold a few like Akpom. We wont get a better chance then this year unless Gibbo goes daft with the cash again

At least you can tug yourself to sleep tonight knowing you were "right".

As a fan of 30 odd years I’m absolutely gutted.

It’s a sad state of affairs when you can’t express concerns without people like you getting abusive, and then getting abusive again when they come true.

I’ll leave you all to your little bubble. 👍🏻

I literally said we weren’t playing badly, in this thread. You ra’-ra’s just don’t like reading anything other than blind positivity.

You do nothing but whinge and find scapegoats to prove your own opinions. Utterly tedious. We've got nothing but positivity since Carrick took over from where we were.

Get some perspective and stop trying to someone find blame.

They were very strong in defense. We just didn’t have the composure, or time, to play the right final ball.
They weren’t better. Different tactics won out.
Exactly this. They defended superbly. The ref should have started brandishing cards much earlier. He gave Akpom no protection at all and he was targeted over and over again.

No matter what happens here, considering where we were when Carrick took over, it’s been a good season 👍🏻

There you go, this very thread 👍🏻

Ah well...that's it now for this season...and what a ride it's been. Proud of the lads...yeah fizzled out tonight, but I would never have imagined this was how our season would end when Carrick took over, didn't think we'd be anywhere near the playoffs.
Onwards to next seasons adventure #UTB

You mean like all the cash Luton and Coventry have spent?

You don't need to spend loads in this league, I back our recruitment team to have us in a really strong place for next season.

You have to turn up in games like that, and as so many times in the past, Boro didn't.

Coventry were far better tonight, it wasn't close really.

The frustrating thing is Coventry are a very limited team.

Momentum means a lot and Boro lost theirs 4 games ago.
Missed Howson massively
Akpom and Archer both off the boil.
Over complicated play in the last third.
Coventry seemed to have extra men on the field and wanted it more.
Also fair play to Coventry, they played well. Best of luck to them in the final.
