* The Unofficial "Official" Boro v Coventry Semi-Final 2nd leg. Match Day Thread *

You have to turn up in games like that, and as so many times in the past, Boro didn't.

Coventry were far better tonight, it wasn't close really.

The frustrating thing is Coventry are a very limited team.
I don’t agree with that at all - it was always gonna be one goal or mistake - it was close - not sure what you were watching :)

Have to give Coventry some credit. They had the measure of us and nullified our biggest threats.
We were sadly lacking the backbone to compete.
Have to say though, that I think Luton will tear them a new one. Luton have 6 man mountains compared to Coventry's 1.

It's going to be 'one for the conneusuers'. And I for one will be backing the winner to get relegated next season.

No need for any abuse directed towards anyone. We are all gutted I’m sure and express that in different ways.

As highlighted, ultimately only a game and we at least should be able to look forward to watching a winning team again next season rather than being massacred most weeks!

From where we`ve come.
We`ve taken a broken team and got this far. Our lads have done what they are capable of......the summer will see additions and departures. We`l be adding strength and doing what Carrick and his team have done since he arrived. Nay worries lads. This is the Boro you know. Proud of our progress this season(y)
Not trying to disagree with you, but I think Coventry have been below us most of, if not all season

b***r. Great season though, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Missed Howson massively last two games, and Ramsey to a lesser degree.

Akpom has looked a shadow of himself since he picked up poty award. Archer poor as well. Whole team did t seem to cope well with big game pressure tonight unfortunately. It happens.

Will be interesting now to see what we do in in summer transfer window. You'd think Gibson will back Carrick.

I am over 60 and went to first game as a babe in my dads arms. I have watched team under Carrick play some of the best football I have ever seen a Boro side play and that includes 74 (my favourite season) and the Juninho years. Gutting that we lost our way at the end. Really gutted but come tomorrow will start to look forward with excitement to what this team will do next season. UTB

Akpom has looked a shadow of himself since he picked up poty award.

He lost the ability to pass the ball as well. For the last few games all he's done upon receiving the ball is put his head down and try to slalom his way through the entire opposing team. Good if it comes off, but it never does. Admittedly this tactic wins us a lot of FKs, but then we generally pass them back to Steffen.

I only saw the last 15 plus added and we didn't look like scoring sadly.
A disappointing end to the season for sure and a lot of 'what ifs' will haunt us through the summer regarding injuries to key players at the business end.
Let's hope we can build on the way we play and remould into a team that can get over that extra hurdle next season.

Well that was a bit ****. As my Dad would have said two poor teams. The comfort is we would have been lambs to the slaughter in the premier as both Coventry or Luton will be. The main thing is we build on this, we seem to have good structures in place and play a good brand of football, hopefully be up there again next season with a few more youngsters like Hackney blooded.

Archer biggest disappointment over the two legs. (Although by no means to solely blame for the defeat) Especially tonight. Seemed to lack sharpness and never won a 1 on 1. Loved watching him this season. Great chance of a big money transfer, first choice striker alongside someone he had a great understanding with and just didn’t turn up. Can’t understand it

Would like to see Coburn given an opportunity and maybe buy a couple of full backs. We won’t be able to afford to keep Steffen, but again Bryn has done well on loan so maybe give him a chance. Priority over the summer is keep Akpom.
