Afternoon all, hope we're all looking forward to the start of a new, hopefully successful era at the Boro with our first game under Chris Wilder. Have to admit I'm looking forward to getting there tomorrow and seeing what the atmosphere is like (cheesy link coming up with the music) tomorrow when we hopefully pick up 3 points!

As for this evening's gentle tipple I will be trying Duvel 6.66 for the first time and looking forward to it. Really like to original Duvel though at 8.2% it's only enojyable to have a couple if you don't want a monster hangover the next day. Fingers crossed it's a nice drink and leave me with a headache in the morning. I'm sure @BoroFur has likely indulged in the stuff before so would be interested to hear his views on it.

In regards to the music I love it when the Riverside is pumped up with a fantastic atmosphere and so ladies and gents I waste no time in bringing the one and only Russ Abbott to the board for possibly the first and likely last time. Anyone who wishes to do so can give me a good kicking in the North Stand tomorrow . Enjoy the weekend!

666 is a lovely drop @WeeGord.

When you consider that 'normal' Duvel is 8.5% then 666 is much less likely to cause you a major headache 🤣

Interestingly I've had 666 on draft at a specialist beer bar in Worcester called TripelB and it was like Nectar.

Not sure what I'll be having later but it will be Belgian or Dutch that's for sure!

Afternoon all,

day off today so have been excited about this thread, but especially this weekend. Feel like we might be on to something. My mystery beer delivery came this week abd had a Duval 6.66 in it. Saving that for a 3pt celebration tomorrow.

I finished my Covid quarantine yesterday but, as we are off next week for Thanksgiving, I am working from home today just to ensure I don't give anyone the virus over the break. This means I can join in this thread again (and next Friday when I'm off!!).

As it's the start of the "holiday season" here I've got myself a box of each of these to try:

As for atmosphere music.....best atmosphere at a Boro match for me involved this track (if you know, you know!)

I don’t actually mind Stella it’s certainly preferable to most of the lagers you buy in pubs these days.

It's OK when you're pouring it down your neck but then it has a bit of a weird chemical/ metallic kind of aftertaste for me. I've got a real mixed bag in the beer fridge at the moment. Bit of Stella, bit of Heineken, bit of San Miguel and a bit of Aldi and Lidle's finest too.

San Miguel is a canny pint too. Try some Tusker if you get a chance it’s a lovely Kenyan lager.
I'm still waiting for that anagram competition to happen. I worked out years ago that Stella Artois is an anagram of 'Let's soil a rat' and I'm convinced that I'm going to win some kind of prize for doing that someday.
