This could be quite a summer for the Boro

Not unusual I know but seems to be a particularly challenging summer ahead for Carrick and the club.
Strong and increasing rumours RVB will be targeted by a number of Premier League teams. Young lad with a lot of talent and can see why a number of bigger clubs are interested.
More rumours Hackney is also on his way with again bigger clubs looking to come in and take this prestigious young talent.
Lots of stories McGree is looking for an out and with only a short time left on his current contract we may need to sell rather than lose him on a free.
Jones also only has a year left on his contract. More hopeful he will stay.
Djiksteel in last year of his contract - likely to go
Smith also in last year of contract -31 but should get an extension.
Out of contract we have McNair - seems to be on his way due to wages. Howson - must get an extension that he can agree to.

We have the 4 loan players - all on premier league type wages at the moment. Ayling as a free agent a possible signing depending on Smith situation and wage demands.
O’Brien - what fee would Forest want? Carrick does seem to like him
Greenwood - £1.5m if we want him?
Luke Thomas - presumably sent back to Leicester.

Leaves us senior pro’s of Dieng, Glover, Fry, Lenihan, Clarke, Engel, Bangura, Barlaser, Forss, Azaz, Gilbert, Silvera, Coburn, Latte Lath and Hoppe.

That is a skinny foundation to start from.

Am pretty sure RVB and Hackney will stay - both want to develop playing games. That is why Rav came here in the first place.
Riley won't be going anywhere. His battle this season has been his fitness and that looks like preoccupying him again unfortunately.
Cannot see us signing the loan players. Greenwood will be priced out of our market on his wages. I suppose we might look at O'Brien. Ayling has it all to play for.

I think we will look to sign 3 or 4 players at most and also really hope that we can keep our team out of the treatment room over the next year +.

I'm fairly confident Hackney will be away if a PL club (or other European top tier club) matches our valuation. I think the only way we keep Hackney is if the club don't accept an offer.

Quite glad I'll have other things distracting me.

Hopefully we give a good fist of it, we need a lot of work and that's even if we hang on to key players.

Do you really think if we got a £10m plus offer for either RVB or Hackney we wouldn’t feel obliged to take the money to balance the books? The Morgan Rogers deal set an interesting example for me that we might just not be able to turn down decent money for our best young talent. Get RVB turning down better offers to come here this season but if your good enough it doesn’t matter how old you are and I am sure Premier League clubs will want to try and get in early for not too big a financial risk compared to his value in a years time.

Greenwood Is that his present wages or if Leeds go up and his wages go up.
OBrien would be a good buy, it's not been a great season for him but if he remained injury free I'm sure he would be presenting a lot more potential n the 1st team.
Jones is the big one for me, get him to sign an extension and we have a match winner in our team.

Keep RVB and build the defence around him. I can only see his worth soaring over the next few years
Not 100% convinced about Hackney. He's a good player but is out of the team a fair bit and I think we will be able to get a great fee plus a premium because he's English.

Fairly certain that this is 100% inaccurate.

We've brought in more than 10 players in, in one form or another and released/sold a similar number last summer.

Am pretty certain we would turn them down. The club have said since Morgan Rogers was in many ways a One Off - the bid came out of the blue, they do not want it to be a precedent. Bids would be starting at double £10m for Hackney or Rav but I believe they would be turned down. And I think the players would be happy to stay here. They both want to develop further through playing time.

I would love to believe this but I have a horrible feeling any of our players are susceptible to bids of 10-12 million plus add ons.

I like O'Brien, after Howson and Hackney he is the best centre midfielder we have, I fear that his price may be too much though, but he will need replacing in some form if we dont sign him. Howson surely needs to be offered another year, if not then we need 2 midfielders. We still need a striker and ideally also a 10.

cant see us being in for Greenwood or Thomas - only Greenwood needs a replacement though

So 4-5 players needed in the summer - thats also assuming we either keep Paddy Mc or we feel we have enough CB's

Assuming 2 will be first team ready and 2 development players, I still think we look a bit iffy for the play off spots next season unless we go mostly injury free

Obviously everyone has a value that would force us to sell but from an FFP perspective, there’s little point selling everyone within a 6 month period unless you’re going to go out and blow it all and more on new signings in one window. When they are all either free or very cheap on the clubs books like Rogers, VDB and Hackney, the income is on the books immediately but fees paid for new signings are spread over the length of their contracts for FFP.
