I'd like to see him get a couple of starts in the 2 dead rubbers
Think I'd start the team that was on after our 3rd substitution , if Bangura is now fit enough to start - maybe Ayling at right back if we are looking at keeping him

Got a good delivery on him, but pretty ineffective the rest of the time. You can see why Carrick doesn't really want to start him.
 
He did more in 22 mins than Silvera did in 86,
Showed good vision last night, I was watching him off the ball, and his movement into space was good, he made a few good forward passes, he lost the ball once but tenaciously won the ball back, he clearly wanted to impress, I would play him ahead of both Silvera and Deadwood.
 
His through ball for the 3rd was very good. Also a couple of reasonable crosses. We may as well play him in these last couple of games. Drop Silvera and Greenwood down to the bench. We know what both of them can and cannot do.

What is his natural position on the field? He seemed to be roaming around a bit.

Totally agree that Gilbert did well.
I’d give him 60 minutes versus Cardiff then bring silvera on
I wouldn’t have barlasser anywhere near the team though

Either number 10 or playing off the left with licence to roam I think. Similar to McGree / Azaz etc

I've only put Barlaser in as I don't think O'Brien should play in dead rubbers unless we're looking at signing him - I'd quite happily see McCabe or another youngster get a runout
 
Engel and Bangura both offer different things, which could be useful next season.

Also gives us an option of playing them together with Engel LCB and Bangura wing back
