Time for the real Boro to step up.

If you can beat Mansfield, Man Utd, and Spurs in the Cup. If you can win eight games at home on the trot. If you can do the double over Forest. If you can beat Bournemouth, Sheffield United, Coventry, Luton at home, beat Huddersfield away then you CAN get four wins from the last six games. Time to step up at the most important time of the season. Come on, do it for your Great fans. (y)

I have no idea why we don't (I assume it is under instruction?) but if we don't put quality balls into the box we won't score enough.

Countless times against Hull there was a woeful corner or set piece, a ball down the channel was behind the runner, we worked a position for a cross then made our way back across the back five rather than putting a ball in for the forwards to attack. After getting free near the byline and beating a man, rather than a shot/cross/pull back we attempted to beat another man and lost the ball.

We just aren't clinical enough in our passing and decision making in the final third in most gams, especially against the 'we should beat these' type teams.

I still have faith, we could do with Sporar or Flo stepping up with a couple of back-to-back braces to cement some confidence and belief that we can do this.

UTB, the I'm still looking at London hotels.........................

Its very much still in our hands, and if the players aren't motivated to go out and put in the performances they are capable of then they don't deserve to go up. Now would be a great time to find some form for the last month of the season and go into the play offs as the form team.

Forest may have peaked too early and its a big ask for them to keep their run going. They'll make the play offs comfortably, but they might not find themselves in the form they are in now by the time the play offs come round.

The real Fulham turned up on Sunday and lost 3-1 at home to Coventry.

Or did they?

Football is a funny game and in the Championship at times a random game. Name a team that is consistent anyone?

I do know playing a game on a Wednesday night and then on a Saturday puts you at a disadvantage if the other team had a free midweek.

We need to replace Isaiah Jones’ attacking threat. Hopefully we can do that with Riley McGree although I don’t think we can do with the shape we’ve been using. Not sure how far off Payero is at the mo or how long it will take him to get up to speed..

Dael Fry will be a big miss too - the most obvious is for us to see Bamba come in like for like. Maybe McNair moving more central and Peltier to the left. I do want to see a back four with Jones being out.

Dijksteel—Bamba—McNair—Bola
—Crooks—Howson—Tavernier—
—-Sporar—Coburn—Watmore—

or
—-Sporar—Connolly—Balogun—

Sporar offers more going forward than Peltier. Sporar is going to sit deep anyway so why not make use of him right of the font three? Howson sits deep to allow Dijksteel and Bola further forward. Tav and Crooks can take turns occupying that space behind the striker.

————-Dijksteel—Bamba—McNair———
Peltier—Crooks—McGree—Tavernier—Bola
—————-Balogun—Connolly——————

The front two feels like a bit of a fruit machine gamble at the moment Watmore, Balogun and Connolly all look good on the left.. Sporar on the right and super sub Josh Coburn putting in his best Alan Shearer impression.

How far off is Isaiah Jones? Has Deal Fry popped his calf? How far off is Martin Payero? Are we going to see Joe Gibson? Are we going to see Toyosi Olusanya?

DON’T PANIC MR MANNERING!!!!

Fulham and Bournemouth are consistent, notwithstanding the Coventry defeat. They've lost 7 and 8 games respectively, have the best defensive records, and have scored the most goals.

Boro's defensive record bears comparison with those two - in spite of what people think of the goalie. The blindingly obvious difference is goals scored, Boro just haven't scored enough goals.

Spending a load of money on a goalie might make a marginal difference to the defence but it won't make any difference at all to the strikers.

No chance, but I’d like to see this (assuming Fry is out and Jones is back).

……………....Brynn

…….Dijksteel…McNair…Bola

Jones…Howson…McGree…Tavernier

….Watmore…Conurn…Balogun

Not much height in that team RICO, I would be tempted to play Crooks as a ball playing CH if Fry is out. ( Bamba more likely but pace an issue v AFCB and Solanke)
Crooks is Our best header of the ball, 6ft 4in , and struggling for me in CM, but could drop in and do a job at CH. Mcgree can replace him in CM along side Tav.
Worth considering?
----------------Brynn/ Daniels
------Dijksteel---Crooks----Mcnair
Jones--- Tav ---Howson---Mcgree--Bola
-----------Sporar------Watmore

Sol Brynn? WHOA! Talk about throwing in at the deep end!! I didn't think he was ready for a first team start (from the whispers) he's not even making the bench

'Magic Paul' Daniels maybe?

Three at the back, I would have Peltier in there over Bola

Dijksteel—McNair—Peltier

Good shout for going 3-3-4 pretty bold doing that Bournemouth away.. nothing to lose I guess, McGree still seems a little loose I'd be more comfortable with him as a 10 at the moment. Who goes in the midfield 4? Especially of Jones is still out. Howson is first on the team sheet, who can play on the right? Tavernier is probably our best shout with Jones out. On the left? Taylor or Bola. I'd probably go Bola. Tavernier--Howson-- --Bola then Crooks or McGree tough call

In for a penny, in for a pound!

Tavernier--Howson--McGree--Bola

Watmore is better coming off the bench and coming in from the left. Sporar seems to settle nicely coming in from the right. Half Vossen.. half Stuani?

Coburn is coming up with the goods for me and Balogun is going through a good patch.

Sporar--Coburn--Balogun

Another with Brynn starting in goal.. very highly praised. Don't know the ins and outs of the guy. He was brought back in off loan.. better off here or not renough out there?

Crooks at CH?!?! I think I'd be more comfortable with Howson there to be honest. Has to be Bamba in for Fry or McNair moves ion the middle and we have Pelts on the left.. right? Bournemouth away?

Happy with the midfield if Jones is back in the fold.. think we have to have a bit of a re-think if he's not. McGree playing fast and loose at the moment.. better served behind the front two perhaps?

Sporar the supporting striker with Watmore much the same. That being said.. our top two goal scoring forwards.. Watmore knows how to find the net, Sporar a little below the steady Eddie 1in3 man that we need him to be.
