So you pay to have a job?

The takeaway businesses probably only cover those businesses. They expanded aggressively and took over the French place in Boro, they’re ar newcastle quayside, Acklam hall, london, seem to be popping up all over, they will have huge rents to be paying and finance costs on all of that. Lot of it is new business so probably not eligible for support depending how structured. Restaurants are also often hotels so they’ve got double whammy. Its not like they have no money coming in, A very busy takeaway/delivery service.
I was going to order for my birthday this month, but will go over the road to Lebaneat instead!

five houses farm shop sells a 1kg tomahawk for £25. Take out of fridge and hour before, Season with salt and pepper, put it in the oven until Internal temp is 50c then sear it in a frying pan (I use a Cast iron one) with oil. Add butter, rosemary and garlic, baste it as its searing - one minute each side in a very hot pan - then flip it to the fat side to render the fat then leave it to rest for 10 minutes. Alice off the bone and cut it into slices.

I have a beef about this
Somebody is 4 the chop
Why don't the franchise owners go out with begging bowls on to the streets? What people need to remember is the Furlough scheme is not as generous as it was. It still covers 80% of gross pay, but it does not cover employers NIC nor employers pension contributions. The company are 'asking' for employees to loan them some money to help meet these mandatory additional costs. I don't like how they did it, but they may have no alternative if they have already used up all the other finance options. Who is going to lend to anyone in the hospitality sector unless they already have a stake in a business, or it is underwritten by the government?

I'd accept asking, but not demanding, borrowing with a return on the loan and the loan guaranteed. Anything else is plain wrong.
Why don't they just declare their staff to be self employed contractors then they don't need to worry about employers NI, pensions, holiday pay, sick pay, minimum wage ......... in fact employment rights in general. Perhaps it's only Amazon, Hermes, DPD, Uber, etc., ...................... that can get away with that sort of caper.
Still no excuse. What people need to remember is the Furlough scheme is not as generous as it was. Exactly. Just greed. They’ve been expanding throughout lockdown when everyone else has been tightening their belts and weathering the storm. Now it’s bitten them on the backside.Still no excuse.
My bosses haven't asked me to 'loan' them money and we are much much smaller than Tomahawk.
The aggressive growth they went for has unfortunately come back and bit them a bit. Hopefully the budget in Wednesday will help them out
