Tonali in "discussions" over 10 month ban

I might be missing something obvious here but if he has been banned by the Italian FA how does that stop him playing here?

Can the owners not just freight him over to ply his trade in the Saudi league where the ban doesn't apply? I can't think they will be happy with Milan and Toenail ripping the p out of them.

FIFA can be asked to enforce bans globally.

It's why Ronaldo's 2 match ban for slapping a phone out of a kid's hand whilst at Man United carried over to Saudi Arabia.

The FA requested FIFA enforce Ivan Toney's ban globally too.

Discussions concluded, he's banned for ten months. No idea what the discussions were about.

Do I remember it right that Brentford are not paying Toney's full wages? Surely, the Mugs weren't stupid enough not to know about this?

Plea bargaining. 'We won't appeal if...'

If I shake my head any harder I fear that it will fall off.

WTAF is going on in his head? Leaving aside the very serious issue of gambling addiction and the hypocrisy of football in general and the PL in particular to taking the "gambling dollar", could he not simply bet on something else? How stupid is he?

Don't have a problem with his punishment, he can have another season for me.

But the sheer hypocrisy of the Premier League and the FA is breathtaking.

How many clubs plug betting companies?
How much is pumped into football by them?
And as a consequence of that mass exposure what impact does that have on gambling addicts?

And I'd be amazed if those at the top of football don't get 'looked after' by the betting firms.

Stinks to high heaven.

From the facts quoted on Talk Sport with his betting in August 2023 (when already in trouble in Italy) the bloke has a serious betting addiction i.e. betting a lot whn already in trouble. A full global 12 month ban would give him a break and a chance to develop strategies to stop gambling.

Posters were writing about ADHD problems, but to me there can be a connection here with gambling, a need for a buzz/thrill and challenge.
