Tory Councillor celebrates 600k food bank meals

Ok. If you have kids and your circs change then you couldn’t foresee that. If you need help you need help. Fairly simple.
If you don’t have kids and your struggling then kids are going to push your finances even further. They’re a huge expense. They’re precious and they are the future. They are a privilege to have and if you cannot afford children then don’t have children at that time. If you have 3 kids and can’t afford 4 then don’t have another. It’s not fair on the child.

No one ever mentions how having children saves the State money when you are coming to the end of your life.

A UK care home costs around £850 per week and if you limited savings and income is paid for by the State. Having kids can help keep an elderly person out of a care home and saving the State this expense and the cost of social services support.

What would have happened in the World Wars if only people who could fully afford kids had them? The British Armed forces would have been less than half its size?

I am not saying people are entiltled to large familiies, but entitled to at least two children yes.

Unbelievable that so many people in the North East are having to live in food poverty - we seem to be going backwards economically.
I know terms like "food poverty" or "fuel poverty" are used a lot, but actually it's just "poverty".

When you split it up into various categories like that, it's as though you're suggesting that someone can be poor in one way, but perhaps not in another, which doesn't make it sound so bad. It's another way of avoiding the problem by refusing to talk about it properly. It's poverty, pure and simple.

(Though I'm not suggesting that's what you're doing Redwurzel) :)
