Tory MP cox working from the Caribbean during lockdown

A little perspective required...

Gordon Brown earns over £1m a year from speeches and writing but gives it all to charity.

They are not "all the same", if you vote for cxnts, you are a cxnt.
People who vote for labour are ***** also. Labour is for boomer homeowners who couldn't give a **** about the state of the planet who retire at 55 having "worked hard all their lives".

No it isn't clear. But we can only vote for the choices set before us and if you accept that in voting in a GE to affect change you need to vote with your best option in the constituency you find yourself in then there can never be a justification for voting Tory (unless they are opposed by National Socialists or BNP I suppose)

This is the work which is expected from Members of Parliament.
Supporting the Vulnerable in our communities.
In this case - Headway - the Charity for people with brain injuries.

You've made a sweeping generalisation about millions of people there.

You're wrong.
He did. In response to another sweeping generalisation by another poster.

Both comments highlighting how tribal political affiliations are which is why serious debate is stifled by petty name calling, condescension and abuse.

It was mentioned, many times, that we should stop that kind of thing on here, in light of the recent murder on an MP (the second in a handful of years) but it still continues.

I just saw an article about this on Sky News they say it was £800k.

Its wrong - to have an oncome for other income greater than that of the MP suggests - MP work is part time for them. Backed up by voting by proxy on important legalisation.

Lets get rid of pay for consultation work for MPs (too dodgy) and put a maximum second job pay total of £80k a year.

That still allows an lower level MP to earn £163k a year - around 11 times the living wage.

Sometimes it feels like we are in the 1820s and not the 2020s.
