Transpennine Express

Trains from Hull to Manchester are a nightmare too. If our lass goes by train now she does the Northern trains route via Sheffield. At least she gets there!

A few years ago me and my son were coming back from Frankfurt and had a long wait through the night at Manchester for the first train next morning. When we made our way down to the station the train was on the platform but not open yet, it had obviously been standing there all night. When we finally got on, the floor under the seats next to us was covered in litter, coke cans and spilled peanuts.

The carriages hadn't seen a cleaner all night.
For Leeds to Middlesbrough, National Express coaches are cheaper, more reliable, more comfortable and not overcrowded. Probably comparable on time too, as the coaches don't stop until Boro
Last time we flew from Manchester as a family, the trains didn't fit in very well with our timetable so we booked a bus from Middlesbrough Station. Although it stopped at Leeds and Bradford the journey time was almost the same as the train give or take a few minutes.
