TV shows that should be retired…

You really believe that the average fan knows as much as someone who played multiple times for their country and made a career at the highest level ???

I've probably been to double the number of matches my brother has, as he's been busy playing football to a Northern League standard for the past 15 years. Watching a game with him he sees so many things I'd never see, and so I can't imagine what someone like Shearer or Lineker see that the average fan doesn't.
Although I agree with your general point that ex-pros have a far greater appreciation of the realities of the game, this doesn't seem to extend to a grasp of the laws.

The Mrs loves silent witness I can't stand it from the dreadful opening music as well. Caught the first episode of the latest series and it was just so comedically unrealistic i couldn't believe it.

Basic plotline
They investigate a body one police woman turns up with them for the investigation

Then a few more related to the first dead person also die same single police woman turns up on her own to investigate

For the finale it turns out the same police woman still on her own is associated to all the deceased and killed them all

Absolute dog turd

I actually started re-watching SW back from the very start on iplayer… early ones with Sam Ryan are so much better than the current ones

(Although you still have to forget the fact you’ve got pathologists going round doing police work and solving cases)

The Simpsons. Peaked over 20 years ago and downhill since.
Could not agree more with this. Seasons 2 to 8 are some of the best television ever made. It is embarrassing to see what it has become since then.

The One Show - it started terribly and went downhill from there.
The Apprentice - just ****, tired and should be on a plane to Switzerland.

I still watch and enjoy The Apprentice. Just watch it as you would a sitcom and it is hilarious.

Archer
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

Both brilliant programmes, but the quality has diminished significantly in the most recent seasons.

The Walking Dead, and all its spin-offs, should have ended years ago.
They've milked them dry.

24 hours in AE you've broke your wrist spare me your life story accompanied to sad music.

Football focus punditry without any football

Homes under the hammer how many sub 100k homes you can show done up for rental

Cookery shows, naked attraction anything in an auction house, police camera action shows , bird watch nature watch anything with watch in the title, anything with Tony Robinson in other than Blackadder.

There’s retirement and there’s just out right ending. I think a lot of these shows listed need ending. Don’t let them slowly wind down.

Unless I’m getting retirement wrong. Hope not I’m in single figures for mine.

Hmmm, Don't know how I feel about this... OK the last series was a bit OTT and a few episodes jumped the shark but the last two seasons have gone back to the good old format.

That said, it survived losing Woodhouse, just, losing Mallory may be the last straw. The tribute to Jessica Walter at the end of season 12 was lovely. short and too the point but still poignant and still very Archer

I love Match of the Day, however what boils my "what not" is the autopsy panel of experts, Shearer, Wright, Jenas, Richards et al. Drawing snail trails in the screen for the scorer who has just ran 60 yards with the ball, a line drawn to connect five defenders preventing a scoring opportunity, circles drawn around players as to define their position at certain points in the game, it's all pure tripe delivered by overpaid ex footballers. We don't need all that stuff, we attend matches, we can make our own judgements, we know as much about the game as the panel except we haven't had the benefit of ridiculous salaries during a professional career. In "The Olden Days", when Kenny Wolstenholme ruled, MotD showed a game then went onto the next game, no post mortem, just football. Now it's as if the "expert summarisers" were invented to extend the careers of has-been over paid players.

Rant over.😁

Tape it then you can watch the football and fast forward past the guff.

And while we are at it - PLEASE don't bring back Faulty Towers.
It's clearly being used for Cleese to rant about how you can't make jokes anymore because you will be cancelled. The irony will be lost on him that he's doing a show to push his incorrect views.

Most of the daytime television programmes should be axed, constituting of programmes for the hard of thinking. Homes Under The Hammer, Bargain Hunt, Loose Women, A Place in the Sun et al, I could go on. I suggest reading a book instead.
Wash your mouth out, it's worth watching just for Jasmine Harman
