Think they did but ITV have now got the rights to both shows and are bringing them back.I thought big brother and the X factor had been retired?

Although I agree with your general point that ex-pros have a far greater appreciation of the realities of the game, this doesn't seem to extend to a grasp of the laws. You really believe that the average fan knows as much as someone who played multiple times for their country and made a career at the highest level ???
I've probably been to double the number of matches my brother has, as he's been busy playing football to a Northern League standard for the past 15 years. Watching a game with him he sees so many things I'd never see, and so I can't imagine what someone like Shearer or Lineker see that the average fan doesn't.
Could not agree more with this. Seasons 2 to 8 are some of the best television ever made. It is embarrassing to see what it has become since then. The Simpsons. Peaked over 20 years ago and downhill since.
The One Show - it started terribly and went downhill from there.
The Apprentice - just ****, tired and should be on a plane to Switzerland.
Aka Chimpanzee's tea party. It's embarrassing in this day and age.Prime Ministers Questions
Hmmm, Don't know how I feel about this... OK the last series was a bit OTT and a few episodes jumped the shark but the last two seasons have gone back to the good old format.Archer
Tape it then you can watch the football and fast forward past the guff.I love Match of the Day, however what boils my "what not" is the autopsy panel of experts, Shearer, Wright, Jenas, Richards et al. Drawing snail trails in the screen for the scorer who has just ran 60 yards with the ball, a line drawn to connect five defenders preventing a scoring opportunity, circles drawn around players as to define their position at certain points in the game, it's all pure tripe delivered by overpaid ex footballers. We don't need all that stuff, we attend matches, we can make our own judgements, we know as much about the game as the panel except we haven't had the benefit of ridiculous salaries during a professional career. In "The Olden Days", when Kenny Wolstenholme ruled, MotD showed a game then went onto the next game, no post mortem, just football. Now it's as if the "expert summarisers" were invented to extend the careers of has-been over paid players.
Rant over.

It's been awful since the Lovejoy and Chamberlain pairing was broken upSoccerAM
It's clearly being used for Cleese to rant about how you can't make jokes anymore because you will be cancelled. The irony will be lost on him that he's doing a show to push his incorrect views. And while we are at it - PLEASE don't bring back Faulty Towers.
Wash your mouth out, it's worth watching just for Jasmine HarmanMost of the daytime television programmes should be axed, constituting of programmes for the hard of thinking. Homes Under The Hammer, Bargain Hunt, Loose Women, A Place in the Sun et al, I could go on. I suggest reading a book instead.
