TV shows that should be retired…

1. A question of sport
2. Sports personality of the year. People win who don’t have a personality!
I used to like Question of Sport, it was entertaining but I can't remember if it was ever really good. The thing that annoys me most is they have so many niche sports on and they ask them questions that no casual viewer would get but the person asking it is an expert in that field and they get asked the equivalent of "which PSG player and 7x Ballon D'oR winner won a World Cup with Argentina". If you know anything at all about that sport it is super easy so they get every question right. Was it always like that? I feel like it probably used to have fairly in-depth general knowledge about mainly the major sports. They still ask fairly difficult questions to footballers, rugby players and cricketers.

After hearing the news the other day of a new Fawlty Towers then I'm going to preemptively say that.

Silent Witness. It was good a couple of decades ago but not now.
Line of Duty. Went from good to being contrived nonsense a couple of series ago. (I'd ban anything else by Jed Mercurio as well)

Question Time. Just Tory propaganda now.

Jeremy Vine. Any show that allows someone to say ‘some people might die but….’ without challenge when referring to small boats shouldn’t be on air.

With you on both of them.

Vine is just an excuse for the uneducated to ring up and spout their ire at hypothetical scenarios he's made up in an attempt to get listeners.

Silent Witness. It was good a couple of decades ago but not now.

Jack and Nikki pretty much do every single job in the police force now, despite not actually being in the police.

I've got the last series on the planner but after reading all the reviews I'm dreading watching it which is a shame because at one time it was incredible drama.

Question of Sport - has lost the plot. The stupid curling type thing that they do is cringeworthy.

Silent Witness. Usually has a plot line similar to Scooby Doo. Bin it.

Vera - Used to like it, but the formula of people who lie at first, get found out, then then tell a little bit of the truth only, then lie again is stale.

Murder in Paradise. We are now on the 4th or 5th version of the bumbling clumsy white middle aged inspector helping out the poor black people, who then calls all the 4 suspects together at the end for the big clever reveal.

Ski Sunday. I love watching the alpine ski racing. The stupid puns that they put in when introducing the skiiers need to be binned. And shoehorning in features on the ski boarding dudes waters down the key part of the program. Give the dudes their own separate program.

Handmaids Tale. Misery Misery Misery. Should have stopped after series 2 or 3. How many close ups of the main characters angry face do we really want to see.

And while we are at it - PLEASE don't bring back Faulty Towers.
