Unacceptible "Paedo" and offensive chants / behaviour at MFC / SAFC Game

Ultimately theres nothing you or the club can do, unless some law comes in about fans chanting stuff like this, and then its impossible to police by determining what people consider offensive.

Both sets of supporters are as bad as each other, our supporters are as equally as disgusting

They're really not ..
We of course have some divvys , and worse booing the knee. A minority.
There's unsavory chants from 10% or 20% or our lot regards Chelsea, or Adam Johnson once or twice in recent games.
They were ALL at it on loop today, must of been a dozen times.
These are people with a lot of priority points.
Not daft lads who haven't any craic yet.
For decades I've witnessed grown men in their away support on route to the ground, and after, screaming and shouting at dads with their kids about fking them / going down on their daughter /nappy ripper. etc.
Not offensive , but just plain sick , Bullying and targeting.

Heard it from Geordies , but not in a while ( obviously )

I agree with the sentiment but if we make a big deal of it you can bet more clubs sing it.
If you just let it happen, it normalizes it and makes it acceptable behaviour
It's not normal.
It's not acceptable.
It's not a “big deal” to highlight prejudice and vile insults which can incite inappropriate responses, like violence.

Yes, it's safety in numbers. I'm afraid. Probably the best way to stop it is to go on message boards like this and challenge them. All will say they don't do it, of course. Bit by bit, it will become a minority pastime.

Less of the Lip is fair enough in pointing out our own choice tribe of neanderthals, however, and we've had threads recently where some of us have expressed shame over 'booing the knee' as it were. There's nothing like being in a football ground for bringing out the worst in people, that's for sure

If that’s the case do we ban our own fans from the ground too? because I’ve heard just as bad from our own supporters this season
We start “policing” ourselves, so we don't need someone else to do it for us.
It's far more subtle and effective as a mechanism....

No because that’s a relatively small minority, although i suggest a few ejections for any caught would be a good idea - with the mackems it’s literally the whole lot of them

Really worse than that filth today
Homophobic chanting the other week, usual Johnson chants today, still the odd idiot shouting racial abuse. I’m not going to argue what’s worse because it’s all vile, but if you’re wanting large numbers of away fans banned from the ground, that also means thousands of Boro fans should also be banned

Thousands singing the homophobic chants against Chelsea the other week, it was far more than a small minority. Same when the Saville/Johnson chants start

Thats it, its a whole culture change thats needed.

It probably needs a sense of proportion. (y)
What we see in a football ground is a mirror image of what goes on outside football, but that doesn't mean we can't make efforts to stop other Boro fans being abused for being gay, female, black, etc. Banning isn't the answer, only to make examples and reinforce the fact certain behaviours are unacceptable.
It's like anything: just keep chipping away. Some will always resist change, many will listen to reason. Best spend time with them.

Call someone a sex offender is clearly offensive and aggressive behaviour - isn't there legislation about that in connection with football violence?

The club need to issue a warning that tgose sick chants will mot be tolerated, cant throw them all out but remove a few , and continue to do it until its stamped out
