Following on from my recent post about 30 year olds and AZ

Under-40s 'could also be given an alternative Covid vaccine' if more blood clots are found in AstraZeneca jab recipients

Under-40s could be asked to take an alternative to AZ Covid vaccine

The UK's medical watchdogs will assess data on the jab's links to rare blood clots in 'scrupulous detail' in order to paint a clearer picture on the exact risk-benefit ratio for people in their 30s.

Yeah to be fair the article does say....

It's media overkill that risks not only derailing the vaccination programme in this country, but in other countries too.

It seems like the likes of the Mail are making up for scoffing at the EU's reaction to the AZ issues by trying to do harm to the UK for some strange reason.

The EU's reaction, how about the other nations, including those that first noticed the problem?

I know the chances are slim but there's no reason why the younger members of society shouldn't take a vaccine with the risk removed and let older sections of the population use the AZ vaccine.

We need everybody vaccinated, not just those in this country.

And how is it doing harm to the UK, can't we use the safer vaccines?

Harm? My own mother is talking about not having her 2nd AZ dose because of all the news coverage. It will put people off vaccination completely - not just taking the AZ vaccine.

We'll end up with a less people taking the vaccines and more people not going for their 2nd dose. And if that reverberates around the world in poorer countries where the AZ shot is all they have it'll take even longer to get people vaccinated. That means more variants. And bigger chances of one coming along that gets round the vaccines completely.

But what harm is it doing eh? :rolleyes:

What age group is she?
 
Give people the facts and let them make up their own minds. Same wit hparacetamol, fags, alcohol, long haul flights.

We're all adults and can assess and take on as much risk for the reward that we want to.

Headache,sore eyes, dry mouth , gastro intestinal pain, sore throat , muscle pain and nausea.
You never forget 😁. Got mine 6 weeks ago and would have had any of them too.

The last 24 hours have been hell

Had my 1st injection Saturday around 10am, was fine until about 5.30pm and then wallop

Every muscle, every joint was agony.
Shivers like I`ve never experienced before and took an amazing amount of will power to control my breathing

Just coming out of it now with a fuzzy head and still a few aches

I had tested positive for covid earlier in the year but was really just a persistent cough and tiredness

The suffering those people in hospital and those that died of covid must have gone through must have been horrific

AZ?
 
Novavax will be rolled out from mid May, hopefully it has a less severe reaction on younger people than AZ and makes a better alternative.I know at least 30 people in their 20's and 30's through work who have had the AZ and they suffered big time, not just little side effects. We are all having our 2nd Jab this Wednesday apart from 4 who jumped the gun by being offered spare jabs after visit to a surgery in the past week for other matters, again they had bad side effects but not as bad as the 1st. Anyone who calls out younger people for being reluctant to take the AZ needs to give their head a shake, these side effects are no minor matter and it seems the people who least suffer from having Covid will suffer big time from taking the AZ vaccine, the younger ones who take it are hero's in my book.
 
Apparently the UK has just secured an extra 40 million doses of the Pfizer jab, but aren’t shouting about it so as not to pi55 off Europe. As of now 44 year olds can start registering.
