- this represents somebody pounding their chest - any club in the world - over could have that very same badge - it is totally meaningless.
It is a nearly perfect fit for Leeds- totally meaningless. To make it more relevant for them you could replace the man with a Mr Hankey representation, Leeds scarf and all.

96% of Boro fans want to change the badge. When that was Leeds or Everton in recent years, the owners changed the badge a few days later.
Tbf it's not actually saying that. I voted for the lion and MFC and I like the others, but I also don't dislike the current one so I'm not desperate to change it.

I think the 86 one looks a bit outdated now.

I like the Transporter being included.
I like the round shape.
I like a red Lion.
I like 1876.

I don't want any subtle nods to 86 - nonsense.

Current badge is pathetic and the vast majority care that it is.
The 1986 badge is not so good with hindsight.

Even the geordies know which is our best badge. My partner got me these for my birthday today from someone who has a balloon business in Wallsend

Just said he supports the Boro what can you make me. I bet you cant even get these from the club shop!

I quite like the idea of using the the town coat of arms on official blazers and correspondence, more as a club crest. Similar to what Man United do. This being separate to a new badge (fingers crossed).
Would that appease some of those that want to revert to a more older traditional badge than a re-designed 1986 badge? The poll shows 20% prefer that idea after all.

Bring back the 1986 badge.. job done.

Perhaps something to represent the area rather than the town. I'd guess the majority of fans and those involved aren't from Middlesbrough.

I think the Lion on its own is fine, in whatever guise, as it has been a mainstay on all our badges. I actually don't know if I think our current badge is as bad as people say, but I'd be happy to just lose the shield design. Not against incorporating the Transporter as it is something almost every fan would associate with the landscape of the Riverside Stadium, but that has also been there a very long time.

The current badge has been unlucky and looks terrible - we've had a dire time over the last 15 years or so

Not saying we should be top 6 in the PL - but for me bing back the 86 badge but change the date to reflect 1876

That's a good shout. I'm from Stockton myself. Is there anything similar we could use that represents Teesside? What about the De Brus family crest?
