Utd and Ineos

Ratcliffe will only spend £1 if hes likely to get £3 back.

It is said by some he got into sponsorship of cycling sport to greenwash the Ineos brand.

His business was started from the purchase of BP Chemicals.

Wasn’t long ago that they were bidding for Chelsea. Clearly it’s a business asset rather than the heart of the club they want to invest.

Maybe of course exagerated but someone said that many years ago they were at an Ineos meeting that he attended and there was fruit on the table. When he came in he demanded to know who'd paid for the fruit "was it us?"

Reminds of Michael O'Leary famously refused to buy stationary for his staff, they had to buy their own.

And a mate of mine has a restaurant in Yarm. Bannatyne ate there and knocked over a bottle of wine with only a glass left in the bottle and demanded a full fresh one.

Some would say it's that drive, determination and attention to detail that got them where they are, me, I'd say it's as much about them being really not nice people.

That'll end in tears.
Ratcliffe is one of the tightest and vindictive tvvat that ever ran a business.
They'll want the Glazers back.
Ratcliffe may be different with United as a self-professed “fan” but I just see him making the same mistakes as the Glazers. Appointing accomplished management people in other professions to manage footballing recruitment, who may not necessarily get it. Nice are case in point with regards to this, and they have had their fair share of rich owners unwilling to put the work in over the last fifteen years.

United fans will praise him as their messiah but it’ll go downhill within 18 months especially if he tasks Dave Brailsford to oversee the management structure. Not a good look. Who would’ve thought twenty years ago that Martin Edwards would be looked at as a reasonably ethical footballing management genius.
