Villa bid for Morgan Rogers

Lots of use of the word “model” on this thread.

I think we’ll sell him for some stupid sum so high we’re all scratching our heads at it.

He’ll then go on to help fire Villa to the title and capitalise on Man City’s 30 point deduction.

Ousts Jude Bellingham from the England squad, helps us win the Euros and he also bags the Ballon D’Or. Narrowly beating Messi who managed to help Inter Miami avoid relegation (😉).

Boro fans complain that the fee wasn’t high enough and there was no sell-on clause in for his £300m transfer to Al Shabab in 2025.

That’s modern football, folks.

Well, this is what the model is supposed to be all about I guess, although I'd always thought it was more about buying players cheap and selling them for big transfer fees.

If Villa aren't prepared to make an offer of £10m or more then I wouldn't even contemplate selling.

Right now.. I'd be considering an 8 mill offer.
The one position we're not short is " not a 9 forward "
He could well go on to be a 20 mill plus player, but , we've just signed Azaz.
If one of HH or MR had to be sold for book balancing, I'd think HH will be more valuable in 12 to 18 months time.

All valid points tbf .

How is it the model what half a season how does that benefit us.
If they’re paying stupid money then of course it benefits the club.

Personally I think it’s way too early for him to be moving up a level. He’s showing glimpses of class for us but he’s still hot and cold and has plenty of learning to do. I’d be sorry to see him go but we do have to accept that picking up young lads, developing them and then hopefully moving them on for more than what we paid them is the direction the club is taking.
