Warnock wants physical striker in window as doesn’t think uche is strong enough

What’s this attraction to Keinan Davis? Seriously? His goal scoring record is shocking - probably amongst the worst of any “ striker”.
How many more times ...Davis has hardly featured for Villa, he's only started 22 games with another 50 apps coming from the bench.
No wonder he hasn't scored many....
Give him a run of games and judge him then.
Thanks

His finishing isn't good.. typical boro striker. Suffered with his development through injury. His hold up play is fantastic, he's left footed and within our price range.
a realistic target.

I think he's talking about the physical type. We lose Uche and we don't have a like for like (Coburn may change that).

I imagine he wants an old 'war horse' type. You wouldn't want to spend much as the new gaffer probably wouldn't want a 30year old + target man.
No point in getting an old anything if he goes at the end of the season. Or earlir hopefully

Yeah like I've said above his appearances have been spread over a few years due to injury. 50 apps from the bench at the end of games or in cup competitions.
He's still only 23 with bags of potential just the sort of player we should be looking at !

I wouldn't give Warnock the price of a cup of coffee to spend at McDonald's he'd come back with a pizza.

Buying a player like dike would be a ridiculous waste of money as the next manager might not even like that kind of striker. The only signings we make should solely come from Kieran Scott and the recruitment team as I would presume they would fit the style of play of the manager (whoever it may be)

Dike is 100% a Neil Warnock type of player, Kieran Scott and the recruitment team have a responsibility for the rest of this season just as much as the season's after. A playoff position finish needs to be very much at the forefront of this.

I can't see us going for Michael Smith at 30yo if I'm honest, he'd require a permanent transfer and I'm doubtful that he would be included in any future managers plans. Uche Ikpeazu at 26yo was the man our recruitment went for in that case.

Are we really going to be fighting Blackpool for the loan of 20yo Ellis Simms 20yo from Everton? Cole Stockton at 27yo from Morcombe has done well in league two and league one in successive seasons. Plenty of clubs will be after him.. but again on a permeant transfer.. I'm doubtful that our recruitment would take the risk.

Folarin Balogun looks like a player that Gibson/Scott would like to get their hands on.. my guess he's moving to a prem team on prem money.

Keinan Davis looks almost nailed on.. but we we'd need something else. Just as Davis is left footed and likes to come in from the left as does Dike from the right albeit much stronger and with better finishing. Put Dike--Ikpeazu--Davis in a front three for the championship and teams are going to suffer.

No way is he a $20m player or even $10m he has bags of potential and would be suited to our manager/team/aspirations £3m (£5m with promotion) £15k a week (maybe we'll have to make do with Toyosi Olusanya)

The manager will be Neil Warnock and we'll be in the championship for the rest of the season. Dike can cut the mustard in the championship.. a loan with an option to purchase would be a no brainer.

Is that you Neil ?

what a day that would be!

I found this one a little odd. As uche is absolute beast of a physique.

Asked his thoughts on January, Warnock said: “I want another physical striker. Uche wasn’t supposed to be my number one striker if I’m honest.
He's saying Uche was supposed to be a squad player. Nothing to do with his strength.

With 2 squad places left another striker wouldn't be a priority for me. Defensive midfielder who can break up play and put some fight in the midfield(Ince, Mustoe, Beoteng type player)would be top priority then 2nd would be a left sided defender(I would prefer a natural left sided centre back who can cover left back). We have enough strikers and attacking players, maybe they are not performing as well as expected but still have enough.

Thought he said he wanted to bring in another strong striker to help him out.. and that Uche wasn’t his first choice? Could mean Michael Smith?

Over 21s and let’s not forget we might sell Stojanovic, release Ameobi and loan out Olusanya. Two more loans available too.

An Ince/Mustoe/Boateng type player would be wanted by any team I think.. not sure who that would be that we could bring in mind. Payero and Siliki still to show their full potential.

Left sided defender & a striker is a minimum for January!

Think I read he would cost £10M
Based on what tho? Fee, wages, bonuses?

Based on what Orlando would like for him? It’s not happening he’s not worth it. I bet the record fee for an MLS player isn’t that far off. He’s not prem quality and he’s had a season in the championship. He has potential, but there’s no way he’s a £10m player right now.
