Where did you get that stat from BB, it is shocking.Good on them.
Anyone who can say this is not a good idea needs to let it sink in that 60,000 11-16 year olds are addicted to gambling.......that is shocking
You could easily argue that it is much worse, in terms of cost to the adictee and their families.Wish we’d do the same. Should be viewed no differently then alcohol or tobacco sponsorship.
The figure in the OP link is widened to the overall population but the links below are from the Gambling CommissionWhere did you get that stat from BB, it is shocking.
This one. There is a twitter page, who's name I forget off hand, who have launched a campaign to get clubs to sign up to with regards to removing all gambling advertisements from their club. It's a great initiative which is showing early signs of a snowball effect.
That's the one mate.
Journey South?Saw a TV interview today with Ed Sheeran who said he decided to sponsor Ipswich's shirts as the alternative was a gambling firm buying the space.
Who have we got who would do that?
Fuelled by YouTubers opening packs for views. What the kids fail to realise is these YouTubers are paid money by EA so they can spend the money they've been given for free on pack opening videos. It's a crafty but awful way around gambling advertisement laws. Once I found out about their practices I unsubscribed from those I follow and blocked others from appearing on my YouTube feeds. The kids of today are getting in to gambling through things like FIFA and Fortnite as well. My lad tells me tales of kids how will spend hundreds of pounds of FIFA points in the hope of getting a Messi and Ronaldo.
The whole industry stinks at the moment, be it ramming gambling adverts down your throat or these so called kid game’s incentivising spending huge amounts of cash in the hope you get a reward.
Seems a strange way in a world whereby we ban fast food advertising during the day and sweets being sold at checkouts, but our kids are actively encouraged to gamble from an early age
I’ve put a restriction on YouTube to stop my lad from watching it for this very reason.Fuelled by YouTubers opening packs for views. Also may I add it gives me great satisfaction to beat people online on FIFA 22 Ultimate team who have clearly spent twice as much money as what the game retails for on opening packs to amass their squads.I’ve put a restriction on YouTube to stop my lad from watching it for this very reason.
