Well the Port Vale ticket arguments have already started

Don't see the problem with it at all. I regularly use my family members season tickets to get my mates tickets to away games. In fact last season I had two mates come to some games who support other clubs.
You don’t see a problem because you yourself has just admitted to cheating the system.

I think people will always try to help out friends and family, but that gets done on the quiet.

What I find it odd that people can brazenly do it online, under their actual name for everyone to see in a period where other clubs are clamping down hard on this sort of thing.

Even if I wasn't "cheating the system" I still wouldn't see an issue with it, maybe because I know loads of other people do it too. I don't have many mates who have season tickets. The way I see it is if I want to enjoy an away day with my mates, and if my family have season cards which I can use to allow me to have a good day out, I'm more than entitled to do so, irrespective of what the club or anyone else thinks.

Middlesbrough could clamp down. Would people actually want to see that?

You’re not entitled to anything. What about people who’ve bought season tickets, put miles in to go to away games and miss out on tickets?

yes, but the irony is surely being used to make a serious point? He's not just joking.
Obviously, you read more of this guy's post than I do and know what angle he is coming from, I just thought he was being sarcastic but even if he isn't, to a degree he's got a point.

I think they’re going to have to eventually. It’s the Wild West as it currently is. Facebook and Twitter was been awash with “spares” for Exeter which is exactly what myself and others predicted.

If they actually policed it better people wouldn’t be able to buy and resell tickets just for points, but would actually see the points required for an away ticket come down as a result.

How can you police it? Glastonbury style photo system at other people's grounds?

Do other clubs police it?

I am entitled because I have permission from my family to use the season tickets they have PAID for. The person who has paid for the ticket gets to decide how they use it. If you dont see that then we'll have to agree to disagree. Its tough luck on anyone who misses out, just like it's tough luck on me when one of my family members hasn't had enough points for me to bring one of my mates, like Sunderland where I only had one ticket for a mate.

Newcastle do it by contacting the home club and stopping 100 tickets out of say 3,000. If you’re selected then you go to the away ticket office, present your ID and get your re-issued ticket to get in.

If you don’t have ID for the corresponding ticket you will be refused entry and the person who’s ticket it is will be deducted priority points. If they’re caught again at another fixture, the persons season card is cancelled.

I think you’ll find on the clubs T&Cs you can’t do that, therefore as I said you’re entitled to nothing.

Bet there are a few people who have been getting tickets off someone else's SC, suddenly realise the closer we get to Wembley the generous use of said SC suddenly stops ........and the owner with the ever increasing priority points gets to the big games........

Well touché, but unfortunately I don't agree with the clubs rules, and I think the majority of other fans would agree with me because if they were able to bring a friend to the game they would. There's no way of policing it when it's done on the quiet. What is the point of even policing it anyway? Those who are satisfied by it will eventually find themselves at a game where they'd like to bring a mate and can't because it's policed.

Some of us work shifts, are those who do to be penalised for not being off when the majority of away games are played? A season ticket just isn’t worth it for me.
You're not being penalised, people who go more often / commit in advance are being rewarded.
By your logic Emirates should give me a gold card on the basis that I'd take more flights with them if it wasn't for having to work most of the year.

edited to add that I don't have a season ticket, nor do I get to many away games.
