Surely the soton fans singing this ! Do they not fancy him as manager ?

Just read the comments on the BBC match report. They really don’t like him.
 
All of the above was related to two days being ejected out the stadium for trying to get the crowd going in the corner to the right of the Boro fans. Local radio was full of it. The yokels aren’t happy with the police tonight.
 
One of the 2 kicked out decked a female steward who was trying to stop them banging on the advertising boards. Apparently he's been doing it all season and she'd had enough. But if you assault someone what do you expect?
 
Russell Martin has been a failure everywhere he has been and this will be the biggest failure of them all. A manger who “plays the right way” but just does not get the results.

This Southampton team should walk the league. I mean look at their subs bench today. Every single one of them walks into our Boro first XI. A decent manager gets them up, but they are not even in the top 3. Martin is all out attack and does not know how to close games out, as evidenced today.

In football, and especially the Championship as Boro know too well, a 1-0 lead can never be enough. And a good manager knows that if you don’t get that second goal then you need to batten down the hatches and get over the line. Martins subs today were to bring on 3 forwards despite being 1-0 up. Especially last 10 minutes a good manager ensures the team gets over the line by getting into shape and bringing on protection.

I don’t think their squad is better than leicesters or Leeds. But it should be 15 points ahead of 4th place
