Westminster voting intention

It's felt like trying to turn round an oil tanker over the last 6 months yet slowly but surely the sleaze and corruption is being recognised by disgruntled voters.
I wouldn't be so confident. It's one opinion poll at a time when green issues are in the news every day so it's not surprising there's been a shift in that direction this week because those are the issues people have picked up in the few seconds it takes to switch between Strictly Come Dancing and Gogglebox. They'll have forgotten about that this time next week.

True sadly.

That's why we can't let people forget. I do think corruption seems to be the one thing that even the apathetic british public get interested in

At the moment it's a single poll - and when this happened a couple of months ago they were quickly into a double digit lead soon after
Also Labour are not getting the voters the Tories are losing in this poll - against a party that's been in for 11 and a half years
But if it stays like this it will make the next election more interesting - possibly with a new Tory leader

If they do it will be perfectly timed to improve their credibility and give them a bounce. It may be better to keep him in place.
I think that's exactly what'll happen.

The new person will then try and distance themselves from this **** show and make out they're effectively a different party and it was nothing to do with them.

You'd think this would mean making sure it's someone who hadn't served in the cabinet under 🤡 Johnson to help with credibility on that lie, but not necessarily. They think the electorate are that stupid. Sadly they keep being proven right.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

They’ve been trending down for months, since their vaccine high around Feb.

This isn’t a one off, and will continue to trend worse and worse, as more and more reality bites.

I was saying this back in feb too, when they were at a peak, and everyone was bragging/ having a melt down that they were polling so high.

Not sure that will work this time around if I am honest. Johnson has tainted the entire party with the vote last week. Too many tories backed it.

I hope so and admire your optimism. You could (and should really) be right.

At one point I thought Sunak was an absolute shoe in for this, he has a certain slick schtick about him that would appeal to some voters (and a nice contrast from bumbling Boris which would show how "different" he is) but I think he's hopefully scuppered his chances with some of the decisions he's made (or been told to make) as chancellor. People are going to be poorer come the next election and he's the one holding the purse strings.
