Westminster voting intention

I hope so and admire your optimism. You could (and should really) be right.

At one point I thought Sunak was an absolute shoe in for this, he has a certain slick schtick about him that would appeal to some voters (and a nice contrast from bumbling Boris which would show how "different" he is) but I think he's hopefully scuppered his chances with some of the decisions he's made (or been told to make) as chancellor. People are going to be poorer come the next election and he's the one holding the purse strings.
I agree with you on Sunak, he was a shoe in before he started raping the poor. It's difficult to see who could step up from the cabinet, gove maybe, and I never thought I would say that. Gove looks creepy and whilst that shouldn't make a difference, it will.

They may be trending down but largely due to Conservative voters. Johnsons approval by Tories is down almost 10 points at an overall approval of +50. Largely because of the Covid-19 pandemic. They've gone from an 8 point positive balance on Covid to -12 in one month.

Johnson is still better off than Starmer who is completely under water with his own party (-21 approval). And Rishi Sunak is even less popular than Johnson - so he's no option.

Johnson's future appears to be tied up with Covid-19. If the governments strategy works, his approval will rise. If it fails miserably it will crash. The Tories are the victims of their own propaganda. They scared the country shitless over Covid and now that is the only metric that counts.

The by-election for Patmypocket’s seat will be won by the Tories. The impact among the public to the current sleaze incidents, if reflected in a big loss of majority in the seat…extrapolate that to seats with closer margins, that would have them worrying. That could trigger the growing Johnson’s become a liability movement within the party.
Be good if happens before the panto season starts, then we could have the darling of the party membership, Liz Truss doing her Widow Twanky
.

That's why we can't let people forget. I do think corruption seems to be the one thing that even the apathetic british public get interested in
I hope you’re right small town because once Johnson goes these Tories are literally fcuked
They are though fcuked if he stays too long because he is utterly corrupt and has no values whatsoever
What I will never do though is underestimate them because they were dead and buried constitutionally back when Brexit was a mess but they basically culled the whole party of remainers to move forward and couldn’t care less about the country as long as they survived and they’ll stop at nothing to survive
Absolutely nothing. Do not underestimate them

The thing is if Labour doesn’t have someone the public can warm to then Labour can’t win an election against the Tories with the way the voting boundaries are.
I really like Starmer but I’m not sure he has enough personality for the public to vote for him unless he’s up against gove or raab

I even think the slick sunak would defeat Starmer
Labour are in a dark place being so influenced by the left who will never win a majority in this country because the people are too thick to vote for good public services etc…they’d rather read and believe the rags like the sun, daily Mail etc….
Labour have no one with an optimistic view that cuts through with people like the scum Johnson
That’s the sad reality 😞
Wish it wasn’t true but it is…

The only person capable of defeating the Tories is Yvette Cooper, capable, succinct and bright and centre ground politics but Labour will never make her leader sadly

Yvette can't even get a place in the Shadow Cabinet. She may have been asked but turned it down. I know she enjoys her committee work.

Cost of living too. And Brexit not living up to expectations, levelling up turning out to be a let down. Fatigue at over ten years of Tory government.

All factors that will hopefully see the end of him.

Johnson once flew to Afghanistan to avoid a Commons vote on Heathrow expansion. I'd love him to try that again!

He once ditched his security team to have a sneaky overseas meeting with Russian oligarchs, so he might not have anyone to stop him, the stupid buffoon. Can we tell him the Taliban are offering free shags?

I don't think that I'll be voting for anybody in the next election as things stand. I despise the Tories but I can't vote for a Labour party that has Starmer 'leading' it and slimy creeps like Luke Akehurst and evil ghouls like Blair pulling the strings.

Blair is not pulling the strings. He often talks sense so people will listen to his wisdom and experience, but he has no string pulling left in him. He is yesterday’s man and his legacy is trashed because he didn’t follow best practice when it came to making a most important decision about going to war on his third intervention.

When war criminals who should be in prison offer me their wisdom and advice I tend to tell them to stick it up their backside. But that's just me.

It’s not just you. People commit logical fallacies all the time.

I'll take that on the chin. I'd rather commit a logical fallacy than be responsible for the needless deaths of thousands of people in what you seem to think was just some kind of clerical error that you can just handwave away.

That’s at least another two 👍

Labour are in a dark place being so influenced by the left

👀 eh? The left are dead and buried? The right of the party's victory is total. They've got the leadershio, every shadow cabinet role, a majority on the NEC. They've probably got a majority of members now after all the purging. Starmer ditches a left wing policy every time he goes on telly. What influence are you seeing?
