What’s the situation with staff at Boro?

Does anyone know how our retail, ticket office and hospitality staff are doing at the club?

Are they being paid whilst there at home?

Just made me think when an article was ran on Spurs Staff being placed on furlough.

I think Spurs staff are getting the (Government funded) 80% of their salary? At very least MFC staff should be getting the same.

All those staff who have been furloughed will still receive their full wage, with the club topping up the remaining 20%.

It doesn’t quite sit right though that clubs that are paying players thousands, and hundreds of thousands (in the Premier League) of pounds per week are using and what feels like exploiting the government furlough scheme.

I really hoped it would be the Boro players who set the example by giving up some of their massive wages to help support their club and staff during this crisis. I think it would have made fans see some of them in a very different light. They still might though, we’ll see.

Pleased the players are doing their bit
It’s a delicate one this one - football is an easy target. Few clubs make any money and, to say wealthy players should pitch in rather than the government is too easy.
No one is asking for key employees of other businesses (CEO’s etc) to pay instead of furlough.

I agree finny, it is a really delicate one, but many CEO's are doing it without being asked - Daniel Levy being one of them, although he did make a few million apart of the completion of their new stadium. Harry Kane is the captain of England, I like the guy, he seems genuine and down to earth, and I'm sure he already does a lot of good causes, but so do lots of other people in society. He, and all other top level players are in a really privileged position and should be using that for good, at this time more than ever! Football has an opportunity, and the governing bodies, PFA and top level players are on the whole, completely missing it.

It would be a kind gesture from the players and well received by the suppliers.
Most are millionaires anyway, I'm sure it won't hit them to hard.
