What a moment for Morgan Rogers

I can definitely see some talent in him. He's still young and probably not found a 'position'.

He's got a good physical presence and looks comfortable running with the ball. He's always looking forward. I can see him being a terrific signing in terms of fee and ability to get better. He fits the new 'model'.

I think long term a No10 or wide in a 3. I watched his pass for Jones at Sunderland. Hardly mentioned. Yet terrific 👌

He was wrongly judged on Carrick playing him as a CF. He clearly never was and only played as we had no other options.

Just another summer signing who's starting to look decent. The recruitment team has done wonders in terms of fees and age of the new players. So a bit of praise for them.

Pleased for the lad , he seems happy here.
He's not ready to start though , just loses the ball a little too often 'trying' something, which leaves us vulnerable to counter attacks.
We need possession to create pressure.

Although a different footballer , he could do worse than watch crooks / forss and their defensive / ball retention discipline attributes.

Buzzing for him. all about confidence and it will do him the world of good. Spoke well after the game too. Massive goal that today

A touch of true quality won the match, good that it came from the bench although I don’t think Rogers will be on the bench for much longer.

The goal was so typical of him, sloppy ball but still rescued it with his obvious talent. If he could cut out the errors he could be some player.

I've always thought he was a good player, even during our bad spell. He'd set up about a dozen chances that just hadn't been taken.
For his goal today, though his pass was poor his burst into the box was excellent. Made the chance from nothing really.

There was a thread after the QPR game about how he's robbing a wage or something. Plenty on there absolutely slagged him. Plenty of this boards booboys piling on.
Exactly that, it was ludicrous to pile on him and claim him a failure after three friendly appearances out of position but that’s what happened.

I’m not sure what the motives of people were but it was a bit bizarre to be honest.

Listening to him in that fairly length interview on Tees after the game, me and my mate remarked just how intelligent and articulate he is. Very confident interview. Honest too.
Agree with that. Was a really good interview and not your run of the mill footballer interview. Clearly someone who understands the game and is a footballer thinker and lover.

The level of criticism he received at the start of the season was ridiculous.

He was played as a CF, was clearly not a CF, admitted he'd never played there before......yet was still written off. Shyte. Boo hiss etc etc

This was on Carrick, not him entirely.

Dropped him back, looks a lot more comfortable. Was playing in a team which wasn't gelling and results weren't good. Not easy for a young player in new surroundings.

But things have turned around, you can see confidence through the team, and he's certainly benefitting.

He's still raw. He's nowhere near the finished article. He needs to be given time. Looking forward to seeing him develop 👍
