What Concerns You About Football?

The FSA is planning a National Fans Survey, it is six years since the last poll. It is a census on all the key issues around being a fan.

They are asking every fan group for 3 topics / questions / issues to see included in the survey.

What immediately springs to mind? What does the FSA need to be addressing? What concerns you and your members about football?

Deadline is 5pm tomorrow - so got to be quick.

This is football in general or Championship football and will go in a big poll - so not Sunderland ticket issues please.

VAR

State Ownership of Football Clubs

Lack of Diversity in coaching and backroom posts

Ticket prices & away game ticket distributions

The over priced and poor quality of food and drink available in concourses and outside football grounds

Short notice of changing game KO's and the implications fans have with expensive travel arrangements

Premiership Parachute Payments & a level playing field.

increased number of substitutes benefitting the bigger and richer clubs

Short notice changes to fixtures. Uncertainty on kick-off dates/times just inflates the costs of travel and accommodation, and has a far bigger impact on the cost of following Boro than ticket prices do, but it's tickets that get all the attention.

The whinging foreign managers are getting their own way in regards scrapping FA Cup replays because their multi-million pound players cannot play midweek games …. Unless it’s the Champions League then no problem travelling across Europe, but a midweek trip to a lower league ground is just too much!!

A lot of very relevant topic reference there I'd have similar concerns to you to be honest.

Exactly they don’t want less games.

They want less games that don’t suit them

1. The increasing polarisation between the elite/richest clubs and the rest at all levels and now including the women’s teams.

2. The effective decline of sporting competition, it is now a funding/richest owner competition.

3. The continuing disconnection of the richest clubs from their traditional positions and roles in domestic competitions and localities by the deliberate long term aspiration to establish European or World Leagues.

people using the word premiership. everything else - var, players cheating, games containing 50 minutes of football, tourist crowds, prawn sarnies, agents, £9.50 hotdogs, oligarch ownership.... is all just perfect.

Continued support for racism and homophobia in football from FIFA

the super league, punishments should have been more severe for the clubs involved.

Poor standards of refereeing, no way should fans of championship football have to put up with it. Goal line technology and VAR should be introduced.

Entire Countries owning football clubs

Late changing of fixtures to suit broadcasters (SKY)

Ticket prices in general. Far too high, particularly walk up prices. They're very prohibitive to those with less disposable income. I feel this is particularly relevant to Teesside. The Riverside would be full every week if it was more decently priced.

Ticket prices.
Players shithousery
Referees too scared to add the correct amount of time on for time wasting subs etc. Need to follow the world cup refs on that.

One thing that concerns me is too much change too soon, we have had VAR and 5 subs introduced quite close together, we could be in trouble if we change too much too soon.

The people in charge of the game and their aspirations of wealth above all else throughout football. leading to many - if not all - of the issues highlighted above
