What do you think Sammy Szmodics transfer fee will be.

Can't see Blackburn holding on to him. He's quick, athletic and a cracking finisher.
Premier league bound or could we offer them every penny from what we have raised this season + next + anything else down the back of the executive sofas.
Him and the current squad minus a few would be good enough next season. He looked great at Gillingham , I always thought we should have tried for him. .
I know I'm dreaming but I really like him as a player.
 
Too much of a risk of being a one season wonder for me. He'll be 29 at the start of next season - I think he only got 5 in 30+ games last year, and 5 in 20+ the year before.

Blackburn will probably be looking to cash in like we did with Akpom. Maybe £6-8m?

Well I've just worked this stat out because I felt I really needed to
Forget about LL settling in period
He has now 12 leagues goals in 16 starts but he didn't play all 90 in those games so i f you work it out his rate is
1 goals every 135 mins vs Smodics 152 mins

Now I don't normally like mpg as it hides a lot of detail, like if a substantial number of mins are accrued coming on as a sub when you don't know the state of play of a game and whether the striker is even instructed to go looking for goals etc
But in Lattes case it's easier because he only has 1 sub appearance of 30 mins in that run. Yeah I know Smodics has played 41 games (but not all mins) but I'd say ,, we already have our Smodics here AND the most important thing is we have a lot of coffee related jokes and bantz with Latte and I really don't think there's much bantz mileage with Smodics ( yeah i know i misspelled his name numerous times but my z key is really iffy and I just gave up to be honest)
 
Not many players, especially strikers, are signed by PL clubs from the championship. The ones that are tend to be young, and English. £7m to a midtable bundesliga club would be my bet.

Interestingly, ELL's stats this season are very similar to his season in the Swiss super league last season.

Makes me think that there's a good chance this is his actual level rather than being a just a good patch. Right now, he's earning the right to be our #1 striker next season.

One way to think about how good he is is to imagine that we had loaned him in during the January window but we had to wait a few games for an injury to heal. Basically, the same as Ramsey last season. Since his injury healed and he came back into the team towards the end of February he's played 11 games, started 10 and scored 7 goals. We would be jumping up and down and saying sign him at any price. Ramsey had a £15m transfer on the back of less than that.
 
His finish was top class today, lovely ball from Dolan and a composed finish, no panic just stroked home first time.

He's this season's Akpom isn't he. £8m to £10m would seem reasonable to me for someone who's not exactly got much pedigree from previous seasons and is now 28.

I think the last paragraph there is important.

Lath has been on an unbelievable run.

Szmodics has had a great season.

It's very difficult to predict what happens with both next season. Szmodics is probably peaking Lath could improve for another few years yet.

Yeah it was Peterborough. Used to see him popping up everywhere on EPL highlights.
When he was there always looked like he was coming late from midfield not playing up front.Even Blackburn have him listed as a midfielder So needn't take Lath 's place.
 
He's got 2 years left on his contract after this. That should mean they can get a decent price for him.

However, I also wonder who would be his market? 29 with one good season behind him, so I don't see a PL coming from him.

He's 29 in September which will limit his fee - I would put him a bit less than Akpom - May be £9m.
