What does a good result look like in the first leg?

Obvious answers welcome.

I'd like us to get some tempo back. I'm less worried about being a goal down going into second leg etc, if we're firing on all cylinders.

I think, and hope, we might put out a performance like Sheff Utd away

3-1 Boro for me

A draw would be about ok I think.

That was their best 11 yesterday and they didn't really do much after a 15 minute initial spell.

We were clearly not 100% trying neither so based on yesterday's game, I'd have no problem taking a draw at their place and bringing them back here knowing they need to get a result.

That was one short of being our best 11 from now on. And we were trying otherwise they would have beaten us.

Not 100% we were.

If we really needed and wanted to win, I honestly think we'd have cranked it up more.

The subs showed that too.

It was managing the game and the players.

Fully confident if we needed to grab a 2nd goal yesterday we'd have turned it up a notch or two.

Championship teams cant keep up that level of intensity for 90 mins. There will be spells to weather in the first leg but we will get opportunities too. If our lot are focused over the 2 games we go through. We gave far too many free gifts away yesterday and we rode our luck a bit. If we are on it then there's nothing to worry about.

A good result for me is anything that avoids defeat. I just want us to be solid and compact because I'm confident at home we could beat them.

Alot is made of Gyorkeres but to me if you stop Hamer you stop Coventry.
For 15 minutes yesterday we didn't but after that we did and we were comfortable

Anything better than a 2-0 loss .. Think we can overturn anything better than that at the Riverside .. Just depends on what Boro turns up next Sunday .. the slow tempo, lackadaisical, sloppy, non-urgent Boro we've seen often away from home? We could get beat 3 or 4 nill next Sunday .. The Sheff Utd Boro we could easily win 3-0 .. We need to cut out the slow starts and stop going a goal down before we realise we have to match the energy, tempo and urgency of the opposition.

I remember us playing in a cup tie against (a Nigel Clough inspired) Forest in the early nineties(?). They were our bogey team. We went down there and scrapped to a hard won 1-1. I think we thought we'd done the hard bit.

In the replay Forest played us off the pitch, 0-3.
You can't really legislate for these things. Three weeks ago, I'd have been confident beating anyone, home and away. But now.... We have to keep it within one for me.
