I think Carrick knows Forss won't whine when played out of position. Greenwood on the other hand........
What is Carrick’s problem with playing Forss up top

I'll be surprised if Hoppe gets more than a 5 minute run out one game we are actually winning, considering Carrick didn't sound too happy when talking about him yesterday. Roughly translated he said "he's a player and he's back at the club"

Who would you play on the right instead? Greenwood has shown that’s his worst position in the front 4. Silvera looks much more effective coming in from the left, Azaz doesn’t really look like a wide player, Mcgree drifts. Forss is effective on the right, as much as I’d rather see him up top.

The thing is nothing about Carrick seems like he would be stubborn, he comes across very intelligent, (by footballer standards) he's articulate, he's calm and unemotional a lot of the time, but I just can't figure out what else it could possibly be

If it meant Forss playing up front I'd put Dieng at right wing.
In all seriousness I'd just put Greenwood there as he's useless up front, he's constantly caught off side and doesn't offer much. Or just play Silvera there until Jones comes back

McGree. I get that Forss is effective on the right but because of him being played on the right, Azaz and Greenwood are being played out of position.
Surely it would make more sense to play Forss up front, where he could be very effective for us, and then Azaz and Greenwood is positions where they're going to feel more comfortable.
The concern would be McGree because in fairness he hasn't played many games out on the right, but he's a good footballer so no reason to think he couldn't adapt.

Same here, either that or he's just a little too nice and tries to please Greenwood as he seems like he would kick up a fuss if he wasn't getting his own way

I would play Dijk on the right in front of Ayling , Foss in the middle and silvera on the left ... mc gree number 10 (in front of aziz) Howson Hackney Ayling Fry Van Thomas Dieng at this moment When Jones and Latte back then SNAFU dont think Mcgree and Aziz can play in the same team

Dijksteel was so out of his depth when he came on it was embarrassing.
Ayling is not the answer , we need a proper starter right back .

I probably think the same as Carrick. in my mind Forss would struggle directly up against centre halves and probably wouldn't be as effective. As for this assertion that he's playing as a winger, he's not. Neither was Stuani at the time.
In the absence of a striker then he could play there, but I think you'd see a much poorer Marcus Forss. If Jones comes back in then I think Forss will move inside. Maybe he'll adapt, but if it doesn't come off then I hope people don't get on his back.
